I met a friend for dinner on a Tuesday night at 6:30. We were seated right away. The demolition to the street out front may have had something to do with that. Turoni’s is ALWAYS busy! For good reason… they have the best pizza in town. Tonight I ordered a large pepperoni, sausage and mushroom (my go to pizza) with the intentions of taking the leftovers home for my husband’s lunch. My friend ordered the steak sandwich. Our food did not take long and the pizza was delicious. I thought about getting the steak sandwich, which is always good too, but could not pass up my favorite pizza. The waitress filled my tea glass three times and got me a to go box. The restaurant filled up and was quite loud, but still a very enjoyable evening. My bill was just over $23 for the pizza and a drink. There are definitely less expensive places to get pizza, but I believe you get what you pay for, and I would always want to pay a little more for excellence.
Didn’t come for the beer, we were passing through on our way home from a mini vacation. Walked in the wrong door and was stared at for being in the wrong place with 2 teenage girls. No one said anything until I made my way through the very crowded room to inquire about a table only to be told that we came in the wrong door very crabbily. Made our way to the restaurant side and our waiter was good but the girl that refilled drink glasses thought that only half of our table was deserving of refills. I never once got my water refilled and I asked twice. Pizza was good. Crust was not as good as some of the crust that we have here in St. Louis but the toppings were excellent and fresh. We had the Noni’s meatball and the meatballs were some of the best I have ever had. So food was great but the device could use some work. Not everyone that walks into your restaurant is from your town and may not know the bar/restaurant entrance differences.
