Always good for the last 10+ years. I’ve never tried the American or Japanese items, only the Chinese which have always been good. It’s a quirky and kitschy little place ran by a really nice family. They are super friendly and provide great service. I’ve tried several dishes and liked them all but usually go for my favorite: Mongolian Beef. The Onion is the only place around southern Indiana that gets it right. Even other Chinese places that I go to and like can’t get the MB correct. Maybe I’m partial because of that but I live closer to 3 other Chinese places and I drive past them all 90% of the time and make the trip out Charlestown Road. I think their Chinese has great flavor.
Great resturant the onion resturant and tea room. My husband and I ate at the best little resturant in new albany indiana for the first time tonight we ate at the onion resturant and tea room. very good food, good prices, delicious food, fantastic service., clean chinese, american and japenese quesine,. a wondeful place with great atmosphere.
Best in the area!
Skip the sushi- all of it. We love sushi, good sushi that is, and theirs was inedible. True sushi chefs train for years to perfect their rice, and the rice they use for sushi was terrible. They may have tasty Chinese, but I doubt we’ll be back to find out. Atmosphere and decor was crummy too, not at all what we expected.
The staff always has a smile and make you feel welcome. the food is always great. The Rangoon appetizer, fried rice and lemon chicken is our regular meal there. Takeout is just as good. Highly recommended.
They lit my orange chicken on fire!!! That alone made this place awesome. The food is good to.
