Great lunch and drink options in such a tiny package. I took a coworker to Benjamin’s the other week for some lunch not knowing what to expect. I was very happy to find a large menu on the board that had much more than I bargained for: panini sandwiches, bagel sandwiches, soups, etc. Not too mention their drink selection being a coffee shop and all.We both ordered the chicken pesto panini which came with chips and a pickle. I also ordered a side of baked potato salad because I was intrigued by the name. The sandwiches took a while to come out, but the portions were huge. The sandwiches were hot and the cheeses and pesto were melted together with the chicken in a wonderfully filling manner. The panini bread was crispy and crunchy on the outside as well, which made the whole thing perfect. The baked potato salad was the hit of the meal. It was perfectly balanced in a way that the potato melted in your mouth instead of was firm and chewy. The flavor was intense and almost kind of smoky, maybe they put something in the mayonnaise with it, but it is a must-try when you go in.Overall, we were truly impressed with their food and I enjoyed that a non-coffee drinker like me had other options like a pina colada iced tea to choose from. They can make you any kind of non-alcoholic drink you can think of, I believe.So there you have it, this is a great lunch spot to break away from routine burgers found in Franklin and the value is terrific. This is my number 3 favorite place in Franklin right after Aunt Judy’s and Ann’s. Well done, Benjamin’s.

They can handle multiple customers at once and are very friendly with their clientele. I’ve only had their bake goods but they are the best. My favorite-chocolate chip scones. I take everyone who visits me in Franklin to Ben’s!

Rather than let someone else rate this place and miss on on something really great – go there and see for yourself!….the new owners have strived to get this place back to where it was many years ago and it has been there for 14 years!…not very many of these uniques coffeehouses around anymore…!…Everything is great!!!26 Sep, 2009New Owners. Benjamins has new owners as of 5-1-09 and the place is hoppin…new menu items and free live music on Friday nights! Great food, many specialty drinks and great specialty desserts!
New Owners Subpar. Benjamin’s used to be a great local coffee house. Ever since the new owners took over however, the coffee isn’t as good, the service has gone downhill and the food stinks. I am not sure it is even homemade anymore! Also, the pictures of Benjamin Franklin, the namesake of the place, have all been removed, which seems to have removed a lot of the place’s character as well. I am disappointed!
