Two thumbs up. I love this place. The people are friendly, and the food is great. I’m not sure why they aren’t getting better reviews. Aside from Journey, this is my favorite oriental buffet.
Clean, simple, Chinese Buffet. I learned a very important life lesson today: if one wants to feel like a complete fatty, one simply has to go to a Chinese Buffet by themselves. Seriously, I don’t know why I did it, partly because I couldn’t drag anybody from work here because they all say that this place is terrible. They much prefer the Chinese Buffet in Edinburgh. So I just wanted to see for myself. Sure enough, although this place has 6 different lines for food, the main line that everybody would eat out of was the same, dish for dish, as the one in Edinburgh. I almost laughed at the consistency (but then again, all Chinese food in the USA is the same, so why was I surprised?). The other lines, a skimpy dessert line, a salad bar line, an appetizer line, etc, were all mainly untouched by the clientele that were eating at this same time. No particular food stood out, but I did enjoy the fact I could get some *decent* sushi that was covered under the price (surprise, surprise, it was the same price that the place in Edinburgh charges) which was a mere $6.75. One key note: The Hot and Sour soup here was terrible. It literally had no sour flavor in it at all and tasted like I was just drinking brown gravy with floaties in it. How dare you ruin one of my favorite dishes!
I’ve never been there for any meal but dinner, and I will admit that there food is not always hot-and-fresh, but most of the time it is pretty good. There General Tso’s Chicken.
Complete Waste Of Money. I recently decided to give the King Buffet in Franklin another chance. I hadn’t eaten there in a couple years and they were still open, so perhaps they had improved. Alas, I wasted $8 (actual bill was $7.27) on a lunch that was nasty and for the most part inedible. There was not one dish on the buffet that was really worth eating, and that’s sad for a Chinese buffet – you think there’d be SOMETHING tasty enough to eat with a good portion of rice to fill you up. Not so, the food was horrible and some of it was actually lukewarm-to-cold. I will not be eating in this establishment ever again. For $8 I could’ve gone down the street to Wendy’s and at least had a decent burger.
Not that great. Although we haven’t been to this place in a few years – we have eaten here on three different occasions – all three times the food just wasn’t that good. Most of the food is on the cold side.
