Carry out. My daughter did not like the pulled pork sandwich nor the corn bread will not be ordering from here againcar

OK but Definitely Not the Best You Can Find in Indy. Had the brisket naked and a sausage with mac n cheese and slaw as sides. Brisket was moist but they chopped it, or more accurately mangled it, into a sloppy mess. Taste was ok but it was lacking in the smokey department. The sausage was good and the sides, while nothing to write home about, were ok. The spicy BBQ sauce seemed kind of tame at first but it built nicely, complementing the beef w/o smothering it. Happy I tried it but think I’ll drive the extra 15-20 minutes to go to GT South’s.

Brisket Sandwich. Peppers, onions, provolone, brisket, horseradish sauce, served on garlic Texas toast. Absolutely perfect. The meat just melted in your mouth.

Nicely done BBQ. If there was one genre of food I wish there were more of in Indy, it would be BBQ. I enjoy seeing how BBQ places differ in their approaches to making all of the basics. So my wife got a nice spread of everything they had to offer the other night (well, close to everything) by getting a pulled chicken sandwich, smoked turkey sandwich and brisket sandwich. We also tried some of their potato salad and corn bake for sides. For dessert, bread pudding. The brisket sandwich was nicely done and they don’t sauce it either, which is appropriate. Sweet sauces and beef don’t mix, but I did try a little bit of their spicy BBQ sauce and found it gave the beef a nice kick. The chopped brisket dropped about half of the meat from the sandwich by time I was done with the bun, but it was nice and smokey and not that dry. The turkey sandwich was given to my wife for free because the staff said that it was too dry to sell. I begged to differ because the meat I tasted in it seemed right on the edge of being too dry, but hadn’t crossed that line yet. It also had great flavor and the honey mustard-ish sauce that we went well with it. The pulled chicken sandwich was sloppy because it was maybe mixed with some kind of sauce of white consistency or maybe it was just some juices that it was kept in. It disintegrated the bun halfway through eating and wasn’t an enjoyable experience for my wife. The sides were pretty average for a BBQ place, neither good nor bad. The corn bake was a unique dish to see at a BBQ place, but should be more commonplace. The huge winner of the night was the fresh cut fries. This is huge for a BBQ place or even a burger place. This shows that they care about the kind of food they’re serving. I like this place for this one reason only. The rest of the review up until this description was all fluff anyway, just know that these fries are awesome and why you should come here. The bread pudding was also a fine way to finish the meal.Overall, I would go back to City BBQ because I was pleased with the value and portion sizes. I’d like to see how they do on ribs and pulled pork next. Stay tuned.

Best location in indy. This used to be my favorite place to get bbq. When they first opened, the service and food were excellent! I absolutely loved their food and have tried most everything on the menu. A friend of mine and I try to make it on Tuesday for the $1.15 rib night. Over the last year or so, the food quality has declined significantly. Ribs on rib night are typically dry and charred. The pulled pork seems to have become overly salty. The other items on the menu are pretty consistent without any noticeable issues. Ribs are also very tasty on other nights of the week. Overall I would recommend this location over the others in the city, but would avoid the ribs on Rib night.

Super fantastic!. We went to the Greenwood location only because we were out late and needed something open after 9:00. It was…. and more. We will be going back. The young guy at the register was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I wish I had remembered his name. :-)Bottom line: The food is fantastic. The sauce is great.

Coming from Texas, I’ve had some pretty good BBQ. However, this is as good as I can get at home. The brisket was moist and excellent. I liked the original BBQ sauce. As an added bonus, they served Shiner Bock.
