Brockway Fish and Chips. This is the best fish in town. Light and not greasy. You actually can take the light white fish and not just batter and grease. Of course the Beer is awesome — my favorite is Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Beer. Our waiter was Dokota and he was great, usually you will find him behind the bar — give him a good tip — good guy.
How can you mess up a Ruben? I can do without.
Bad Service. Service is very very poor. The first server came by, we asked for menus and a beer list. She came by with a menu. She never came back. Another server came by after a while so we asked her if she could help. She said yes, but then looked confused where our server was. Wife and I ordered food and drinks. After a while, our friends met us, our fish and chips came out. No beer yet. We had to keep going to the bar for drinks. After a while it got so unacceptable we left went to a nearby bar off Meridian, where we got friendly service. This was my second trip there and the second time for poor service
Poor service. I will not be returning to Brockway. Nobody helped us when we stood there awkwardly upon first arriving. After finally seating ourselves, we waited 10 minutes without anyone coming over to our table, even though we were in plain sight. I finally flagged down a server and we ordered food and drinks. The food was mediocre — your average pub fare, I suppose. There is a good selection of beers. The real problem was that our server never came back to check on us. We sat with empty beer glasses for the remainder of dinner. That’s a cardinal sin for a pub. If you want repeat customers, Brockway, you need to wait on them.
Downhill. I have to agree with the last review.. menu changed.. portions reduced (Pub Chips) Service very shaky.. Sad.. it was my favorite bar
Bummer. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and by far my favorite Irish pub. But in the past 6 months or so, the menu has dropped the Irish Stew and the mozzarella sticks, my two favorite items. The service has been pretty poor, with multiple waitstaff working but no one particularly seeming to be taking care of us. It’s a shame to have a place I enjoyed so much become bad enough that I don’t want to go there anymore, but it appears to be the case with Brockway.
Bike Nite. Every Thursday for two years I’ve gone to bike nite at the brockway. If it wasn’t for the friends I have that attend, I would not go. The service seriously sucks. The wait is brutal and most time the servers disappear for twenty minutes and then say the bar or kitchen screwed up the order. It is sad that weekly attenders in large numbers are treated so badly. I’m going to suggest we take bike nite somewhere else next season. Sad, sad and sad brockway.
