We wanted to like it, but the doughnuts were doughy, and they all tasted lemony, hopefully from lemon cooking spray and not lemon cleaning spray. Either way, not tasty.
The Freshest Doughnuts in Area. I found sweethouse bakery through a local radio station over a year age and have been visiting on a weekly basis ever since, even with the out of the way location of the shop. Every single item I have tried has been the freshest, best tasting doughnuts I have eaten in my life, and i’ve eaten my share of pastries. The real test is that the doughnuts are fresh the next day too and the Owner’s are friendly and take there craft seriously. I visit jobsites in Chicago daily and people as far away as Morton Grove request that I drop off a dozen or two when time permits. Anyone in the area stop by, you will not be dissappointed.
Inviting envirment. I loved this place not only because the baked goods were fantastic and fresh, bu the whole place was warm and inviting. It was an old fashion mom and pop syle bakery you dont see around anymore. Also involved in the community, nice people.
