Wedding cake of my dreams!. I got my wedding cake from Cakes by Karen. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious. Our experience with tasting was great. The staff really took their time with us and answered all of our questions. They had tons of pictures for us to use as references and took very detailed notes. I provided them with a very heavy cake topper that I made using World of Warcraft action figures on a plexiglass base and they implemented plenty of support so that it didn’t sag during the reception! The result of all their labor was a white cake with smooth, beautiful frosting and chocolate ganache filling that we still talk about years later. It had beautifully crafted sugar roses on it as well. They weren’t very tasty but that’s mostly because they were crafted to be sturdy and lovely.

Great cakes!. We have been using this bakery for years. I have never had a bad experience with them. The cakes are fresh and beautifully decorated. I even order birthday cakes for family in Indianapolis. We also love their cookies….I have ordered them for many special occasions at work. The coffee cakes are wonderful as well. I have taken them to Wisconsin for family who request them. If you don’t order ahead, you need to get there early because their products just don’t last. But if you get there early in the morning, be prepared to wait because the line can be long.
Worst cake experience ever. I ordered a special cake for my moms birthday and this is what I got. I was told it wasnt ready. I waited for a half hour and it must have just come out of the oven and they put the frosting on. She said to put it in the fridge to cool WELL she should have said we screwed up come back after it cools then we will frost it. It melted into a mess. I would never use them again. I paid alot of money for this cake and this is ridiculouse service.
BROWNIES. Cakes by Karen’s brownies even topped my mom’s brownies, now that says it all………..the best ever, sorry mom,but i still love ya.
Great Stuff. When we moved to NWI we left a town with a bakery and I could not have been happier coming down Kennedy in the truck when I saw that sign! This is THE place for cakes. They have other great bakery items too, but cakes is what Karen is known for.
