The soft serve was very good, especially the orange vanilla twist. The service was friendly but the burgers were ho hum. I would buy the soft serve again but I’ll pass on the burgers.
Hamburgers I can’t get in Minnesota. Miner Dunn is on US-41 (Indianapolis Blvd) south of I-80,about midway between US-30 and I-80. It looks like (and is) a coffee shop from the 60s. Originally serving a variety of thin-pressed hamburgers with fries and orange sherbet; it now has a full menu of short orders. The waitresses and cashiers are all friendly. I always have the salad burger (shredded lettuce and 1000 Island Dressing) with fries and Chicago Brick soft serve (orange sherbet swirled with vanilla ice cream). The salad burger existed long before the Big Mac.Miner Dunn looks like it did when I was in my 20s, but it looks like the bloom is off the rose. It’s kept clean but could be freshened up.
Used to be a great favorite. No longer. Burgers are getting skimpier; only saving grace are the home made onion rings and fries. Too bad the traditional fried chicken was removed from the menu.
Great potato soup.
Getting Better. I haven’t been there in quite a while since I thought that their quality & quantity had gone down hill. My visit there the other day was suprising in that the was much improved. Time will tell. A couple more visits like this and I’ll be saying they have the best burgers around.
One of my favorites. I used to go there with my parents when I was young. Simple (GOOD) food. Not a fancy place but the food and service is always good. The burgers and soup taste the same as it did about 20+ years ago.
Tasty burgers and excellent service. It’s not a fancy place, but I promise that the Cheese Supreme is the best patty melt you’ll ever have.
