Went back here after an absence of several years to try their reputed lake perch lunch.Have to question whether the fish I was served was genuinely lake perch or some giant clone thereof – fillet sizes were a tad too large for my liking and the breading was blah and tasteless.French onion soup was a disaster, with NO onions in sight, 4 very soggy croutons floating in the cup and a pre-packaged slice of some type of white cheese tossed on top of the liquid at the last moment apparently. The soup was not even warm enough to melt the cheese.Sorry, I’ll continue my absence from their doorway.
Town Club Fun… We were lucky enough to be invited to the Lobster night last week. What a GREAT NIGHT of fun..2lb. live Maine Lobster dinner with red potatoes, chowder, corn and butter. The owner and his son break open all the lobsters table-side, they told us they sold over 1200 lobsters in the last 18 monthes. Cannot wait till the next event..WONDERFULL.28 Jun, 2013Neighborhood Gem.. I some times read reviews by people who are just Mean. The Town Club in Highland is one of the last remaining Great Neighborhood Steak Houses that have something for everyone and the Biggest Drinks for the money in the region..You will never go wrong there.
DELICIOUS FOOD!. I always have a great time at The Town Club – how many small restaurant businesses are left in Northwest Indiana?? You can feel the difference with this neighborhood treasure! So glad to have a place where the owner is greeting me and his guests, the food is DELICIOUS and I can’t wait to go back
Customer Service. I received a gift certificate for Christmas so I dropped in t check the place out since I have never been there before. I have an allergy so I needed to know if they serve anything I can eat. I talked to the Mark the owner and told him of my allergy. He was not eager to find out if the specific menu item was something I could eat. He flat out said he did not know because he ordered that item from Canada. I really thought he was going to read the label for me but… I let it go. I then asked about the oil they use and this is when I could tell he was not interested in helping me at all. In truth, he just did not want to sell me a dinner. I assume he’s one of those owners who have a regular customer base so he does not feel the need to cater to potential new clients. That’s too bad. I left empty handed. Anyone want to buy a gift certificate? Please let me know. It’s for sale.
Used to love it. This used to be one of my favorites. The last time there we ordered lake perch, was like $22.00 per entree. We got very small portions of fish and a tiny little basket of sweet potato chips to share. I don’t know if I will give it another try. Too many places for good fish with larger portions and priced much more reasonable.
Excellent food! Everyone there is SUPER friendly! We go there all the time!!!! Highly recommended! If you like prime rib and fried zucchini you’ll like Town Club!
Steak cooked right!. I am a beef girl and I like it medium rare, which sometimes is hard to get done correctly. I took the chance ordered medium rare and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and we liked that the owner was there. The sweet potato side is wonderful and the waitress was nice enough to suggest serving them with brown sugar and butter, which made them even better. As new resident, we are trying to go to a place once and the next time we go out try somewhere else, but . . . we’ve been back at least three times after that first visit.
