Stuffed French Toast!. I’ll start with the less exciting news – the service was mixed. I came on Easter Sunday a little after 9a and because I was by myself and there was no wait. My waiter was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable and once I ordered my food it came quickly. But he wasn’t great at remembering smaller requests like lemons, butter, to-go containers. However, on my way out I was thanked for coming in and wished a good day! Now, on to the food. I ordered the Ricotta Stuffed French Toast with bacon-infused maple syrup and a side of fruit. I don’t think I’ve had french toast in at least two years, so this tasted particularly amazing to me! It’s two thick slices of toast with a layer of sweetened ricotta in between and more than a dusting of brown sugar on top! The texture was perfect! And the ricotta in the center made the consistency similar to a custard-y bread pudding! The maple syrup was a nice touch – the bacon flavor wasn’t overwhelming, but it was fun that there were actual chunks of bacon.I took a slice of carrot cake to go and enjoyed that was pretty good. The was very dense and moist – just the way I like it. The icing was different – definitely a beautiful buttery icing, not the strong cream cheese that I expected. I’m a big icing fan, so I would’ve liked a much thicker layer. But I certainly appreciated the very large portion size!
We come here literally every single Aunday morning. Sure, there are plenty of places for breakfast, burn for us, nothing compares to our neighborhood Patachou. The service is beyond compare, feeling like we are part of the Patachou family. Favorites include broken yolks with bacon and avocado (make sure you get over easy, the yolk makes this sandwich). I usually get it open faced, on wheat, with a side of strawberry jam. Coffee is to die for and is the only coffee I ever drink. Favorites include Highlander Grog and Banana Nut. Get here early, or you will wait! Brad will take care of you, don’t you worry. Take advantage of the coffee before you eat; it’s THAT good.
Brunch time is rush time here. I recommend the broken yolk sandwiches, specially in a bagel. The french cinnamon toast was a little dissapointing. Good service and nice ambiance.
Great Place for Brunch. I have eaten here twice, and both times it was delicious. They were super busy both times, so be prepared to wait. Their bloody mary was really good!
Bad service and crazy owner. Wow, really like the food but the service is bad to spotty. Let the owner know and man what a witches brew was let loose. She doesn’t take criticism lightly. She went on and on and on and finally I just told her to let it go. So if you like OK food at a high price and spotty serice this is the place for you. Check out Random Dude’s review. I guess she was yelling at the hostess and had her in tears. Shame Shame Martha Hoover.
I am a longtime fan of Caf Patachou already. I typically order Hippie with a Benz omelette or a broken yolk for bfast. On a recent morning, I decided to look at the menu and discovered the Cuban Breakfast. Awesome! Outside of the box. Loved it (see photo).
Sat at the counter treated very rudely, won’t go back.
