Worst Service & Attitude. We all work downtown and had only the usual hour lunch to take out a coworker who was leaving, so we called ahead to say we would be a large group of 12-13.The restaurant was obviously busy, with a Shriners convention in attendance, but we arrived timely and were seated immediately. The waitress came fairly quickly to take our drink orders. And that was the last positive thing. We waited a good 10 minutes just to receive our drinks. Most of us had more than half-completed drinking them before the waitress returned to take our orders all of which were from the special lunch menu, food which is usually served very promptly. The waitress never returned to freshen our drinks until we finally called her over and then she served fresh drinks only to the four of us who had flagged her down, not the entire table. We had to call her back to serve our coworkers. The waitress never made any attempt to stop by our table, see if we needed anything, explain what was taking so long with our orders, or in any way make us comfortable or assure us we were valued customers. We did not receive our orders until 55 minutes after being seated. One of our members had to ask for a box, leave to return to work and actually had to track the waitress down and give her payment. The other tables around us were not faring any better. The group of four in the booth behind us got up and walked out after one of their number went to find the manager and complain.A group of two who were seated after us and all the other neglected customers got their orders immediately while we continued to wait.We tried to flag the manager down as he walked through the area and he looked directly at us and kept on walking. While we were bolting down our long-delayed food, one of our group finally got the manager over to our table. When she told him what had happened, his attitude, tone of voice, and indeed, body language were basically, So effing what, lady He said hed speak to the waitress, and Marilyn, the coworker whod flagged him down, said that wasnt the problem; a waitress is only as good as her training. Then he said hed speak to the cook. Again, Marilyn said, that wasnt the problem. Then he asked her what she wanted! Marilyn said she wanted to hear an apology, and he said, I apologize. If he could have sneered, he would have done so. As I told Marilyn afterwards, it was a darned good thing he was across the table from me, because I would have slapped him.Yes, I know the restaurant was busy. Yes, there was a convention in the hotel. But no, there was no excuse for what we endured. If any effort had been made if the waitress had seen to our drinks, said she was sorry for the delay, that the kitchen was shorthanded or whatever if the manager himself had come around and said, Ladies, I apologize for your long wait any of these things would have made us feel better, not been offended.Even ordering from the lunch specials, we were a $130 table. Under normal circumstances, when I order from the lunch menu, despite the fact that it states it includes a gratuity, I leave another 20% on the table. This time I did not.Champions has lost 13 customers for certain and probably more, for I doubt the people who walked out would return. Moreover, when we left, another pair of people were standing at their table and said they would continue to stand there until the manager spoke to them.

Average sports bar grub located very convenient to the convention center. Service was somewhat spoiled when it took 15 minutes to get our check.
