Gave this place a shot on the advice of a co-worker. Super clean, nice place. I was seated immediately and ordered with in 5 minutes of sitting down and had my food about 10 minutes after that. I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans looked and tasted fresh, not canned. They were tasty, but seasoned with something unusual. It was good, just couldn’t really tell what it was, I usually can decipher what I’m eating. Mashed potatoes and gravy were really well seasoned. Personally I prefer smoother, creamier potatoes. These were roughly mashed red skin potatoes. A little too lumpy for me to call them excellent but the flavor was great. I was given two full wings and a breast. The coating was extra crunchy and very flavorful. Some of the best coating I ever had. The breast, however, however was slightly over cooked and a little chewy and had an odd slightly sour taste. The coating saved the day. Good food, easy on the wallet, clean environment and friendly wait staff. I’ll be back to try more!

Soggy hash browns. Beyond overlooked home fries with raw bell peppers and onions. Raw Granny Smith apple pancake. And a 45 minute wait for the food to be served. Photo attached is supposed to be an egg white omelet and home fries.
Poor manager. Went into the restaurant after calling to make sure I could use a groupon on a to go order and was told I could. took a few min for someone to get me a menu and then finally the manager came to take my order and she told me groupons are not for to go orders I explained to her that I called and ask and she told me she was the manager and should know. But she took time to read the groupon and it didn’t say anything about dine in only so she let me use it. Not off to a good start and didn’t get much better. I ordered a coke to go and told her id like it now and placed the rest of my order at the same time. After about 10 min I went to the bathroom and seen she was just visiting. Waited another 10 min for my order she brought it out and said here you go I ask what about my coke oh I forgot and then she brought me 2. Went home and took everything out of the bag and no plastic ware or nampkins, then opened my chef salad and no hard boiled eggs and then the meatloaf was dry. So I picked up the phone and of course she answered and I explained about the salad she said im sorry I made the salad would you like to drive back up here and ill give you some hard boiled eggs for it. I said no im not driving back up there That was it nothing else like can I give you a new salad next time your in that never crossed her mind. So I ask who her boss was and she said the owner I said is he there? no hes only here 2-5 some days. I had a busy day today but ill be calling everyday this week until I talk to him and explain about his poor management.Never had a problem when it was tjs ate there several times….
Loved the chicken n dumplings with mashed potatoes and green beans! Second best to Grays Brothers I’ve had. However my brother said the meatloaf was not good at all :/
Read the reviews before dining here! I know I wish I had! Let’s start off with the good: prices aren’t horrible. The end. Now the bad: service was incredibly slow! It took 10 minutes for someone just to take our drink orders. Another 10 minutes to get half of them. 20 minutes for someone to take our food order and then after an hour the food showed up but we still didn’t have the other half of our drink orders. Our server was very nice and apologetic but still horribly slow. Now, all this could be forgiven if the food was amazing and worth the wait….I wish I could say it was. But I’d be lying. The food was average; nothing you couldn’t make at home. We won’t be back.
