Good Food HIGH CRIME ZONE. The food was great, but I won’t go back until I can find body armor that fits. My car was broken into while we were eating and it took 45 minutes for IMPD to show up. Sadly, a nice restaurant in a really bad part of town.

Absolutely Delicious. There is nothing that i have tried at Down Home Cookin that has not been delicious! If you have an appetite for southern food, Down Home Cookin is the place to go! Enjoy!

Great Food! Check It Out!. After passing by the restaurant on numerous occasions, my wife, son and I decided to have lunch one Sunday afternoon. What a pleasant surprise! This is some really good cookin! We went back and ordered takeout for a Sunday dinner at home. My wife ordered meatloaf and I ordered baked turkey drumsticks, both of which were great. The sides — mac and cheese, black eye peas, collard greens, corn — were terrific. And you’ll love their corn bread. Everyone is really friendly, too. Will definitely be back.
New food spot. Was sitting at post office waiting for it to open when I noticed the restaurant across the street. went in an had breakfast and have been going there at least 3x’s a week since. Great food, fast friendly service. nice addition to the area.
