I tried the breakfast dish they prepared for my wife at the Broad Ripple farmers market, and was jealous that I had chosen another vendor for breakast because the veggie and egg dish topped with their kraut and chile paste was to die for. I had to try their lunch so I went to the City Market and tried their Grilled Cheese, and again was blown away. Their homemade sodas are very unique as well as the food. Worth a try if you like fresh local sustainable etc.
Love eating fresh and local, but the menu here is really limited. My husband and I went for lunch, but passed it by due to a lack if appetizing options that suited our mood for the moment. Supposedly the menu changes daily, so we’ll try again soon on account of having bought into their groupon deal.
LOCAL= FRESH!. I had the local salad which was amazing! Fresh mixed greens, roasted beets, roasted squash. What a really great salad. I had them them throw on a bit of meat from Goose the Market. This is the way I should be eating on a daily basis. I feel like it somehow has changed me. Seriously, you must go here and sup at the alter of this food god. I believe you are worthy.
Such potential. I love that they use local and organic ingredients. I love that they make their own kraut and drinks. I love the location and the fact that they don’t limit themselves to lunch within city market. I felt that the grilled cheese left a lot to be desired. The bread was boring. It needed some acid. The pulled pork sandwich was good. The bread could have been better. They absolutely needed more bodies behind the counter. There was one guy at noon and the other showed up while we were waiting on our sandwiches. I hope they can make it when Papa Roux is selling pound sandwiches with a drink and a side for about the same price.
It often feals that Indy has little diversity in the dining department. I think this lunch option adds a welcome different option to my daily routine. You will find tasty options resembling those you would see at any other deli, but with a care to preperation and ingredient additions that will send you back to the counter asking how he made the sandwich. Luckily you then can purchase these ingredients and enjoy them at home.
