We are in Indy for the wknd, I am from LI/NYC, and I’m used to excellent food choices- so in other words- I’m a food snob. Being gluten free & dairy free, due to food allergies, I try to find places when I’m away that are high quality & made with passion for a person with food allergies bc i dont want to feel like I’m missing out on a great food experience. Tonight I tried the choc ganache vegan gfree choc cupcake w/vanilla cream filling and also the almond vegan/gfree cupcake from the Flying Cupcake bakery on N. Illinois St in Indianapolis– OMGOSH they were incredible! I cant believe how moist and delicious they were, the icing rich, smooth, with a slight crunchiness on the outer frosting layer and full of just enough flavor- not clawingly sweet- leaving you wanting more after each bite. I read alot of the reviews before actually going there and wasn’t sure what to expect bc some were harsh with their criticism. .. we arrived after 7pm(they close at 8pm), there were about 18 vegan gfree cupcakes left….i was thinking that they were probably made much earlier that day- so I had low expectations of a fresh taste experience; however, after the first bite- I was blown away. Period. Even if I could eat gluten/dairy again, I’d still prefer their gfree vegan cupcakes bc they are THAT amazing and satisfying. I bought some other flavors to try tomorrow w/friends & can’t wait to see what joy they will bring to our tastebuds. Thank you Flying cupcake! 🙂 This place is a must for a person with food allergies bc they will get an excellent dessert treat w/o getting sick.
Coconut Cupcake. Was a big hit for my moms birthday. Not to sweet, beautifully decorated and all over yummy.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. All of it. Everything. Flying Cupcake can do no wrong in my book. Did I mention that it’s amazing? There’s a coconut cupcake that could seriously make me cry.
Better than Sprinkles. Or at least more consistent than the one near the Magnificent mile. I was surprised at this. The Flying Cupcake exceeded my expectations by a long shot!!!!
