My second visit to Good Morning Mamas. I had the Full Boat with fried Spam. This was only the second time in my life I’ve had Spam. The last time was here also. The service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing and very filling. This is a great breakfast spot!
I’ll start off with the positive here…. The food is REALLY good. Solid preparation techniques and great flavor. The artery clogging SoBro on the menu is a perfectly crispy fried chicken breast smothered with amazing sausage gravy with two eggs and a biscuit. Decadent! The problem is that we’ve been here 5 or 6 times and have never had good service. First, there’s always a long wait and you never get the feeling there is a order behind when they call up the parties. Second, the food just takes a long time to get out to you. Third, the waiter service has been anywhere from mediocre to atrocious. Our most recent visit compelled me to write a note to the waiter & left a tip commensurate with the poor service. If you can tolerate the poor service, the food is almost worth it.M
Enjoyed the food. Got the full boat with chorizo. Very good. Looks like others had bad service, we did not. Waited 15 minutes and the rest was fine. Will return again.
Food was good, the ambience a bit noisy, but tolerable. Three visits so far over the last 2 years, however, and very slow service both times, 45 minutes to an hour from order to food on the table. I won’t go back.
Great spot for Brunch!. We tried this place today for brunch. Fabulous! They had Bloody Mary’s, Mimosa’s, and Sangria! The service was quick and very personal. We sat outside in the courtyard and it was so quaint. It reminded my of some spots along the Gulf Coast. I ordered a veggie omelet with cheese grits and it also was very filling. We also thought the prices were reasonable. This will be added to our Sunday Brunch Locations! Highly recommend!
Love this place…especially sitting outside on the patio when it’s nice outside. The wait can be long but the food and service are worth it to me. I recommend the Java French Toast!
Very underwhelmed. For a restaurant that is packed every day, and seems impossible to get a seat unless you get there right at 8, I was incredibly underwhelmed. Although the venue is a perfect location at 54th and Monon and the staff was pleasant the food was not very good, in my politest words. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms spinach and goat cheese. The items were not properly dried before therefore the mushroom juice leaked through the egg turning the inside grey. The potatoes were half burnt half underdone and tasted of grease and onion. The toast was ok however they did not have a gluten free option , which should definitely be standard option on very menu at this point. I asked for turkey sausage, but received turkey bacon, which is not the same. No biggie sent it back. I also opted for a pomegranate mimosa which I was very excited to have. A prebottled concoction arrived which was 95/alcohol 5/pomegranate :(.Aaron ordered eggs bacon toast potatoes simple. He said it was ok. And he is one of the easiest people to please. To top it off our meal was around $30.00. :/. I’m writing this hoping they’ll fix the issues, because it’s a great area kitschy cute, hoping it turns around.
