Absolutely the best Greek food I’ve ever eaten. I usually don’t care for gyros, but the lamb was perfectly seasoned and fork-tender. The combination plate, which I ordered, has a LOT of food (all perfectly prepared, btw) – enough to split between two people if you order salads and an appetizer. Service is a bit slow – on the other hand, there is so much food that you can savor every bite (and you will!).

I don’t usually write reviews as a matter of fact this is my first time. I had never been to the Greek Islands until this evening and I booked a reservation for four people. We arrived to find a nearly empty restaurant on a Friday night. Even though there were only two other tables with patrons we had to wait for a table to be cleaned despite reserving a table. The waitress was like nothing I had ever experienced. She inquired about our evening and when we returned the courtesy she replied well I’m at work. Over the course of dinner we learned that the table in the back of the restaurant contained the ‘bosses’. It became clear why the waitress was so poor as we sat and watched the restaurant leadership chat it up in an empty restaurant. All of the wait staff at one time or another was on their cell phone. The waitress brought our wine then stated she doesn’t really know how to open it very well. Twice during our dinner someone at the ‘bosses’ table was having a conversation on their phone with it on speaker. The waitress explained she would rather be at Cadillac ranch doing shots? Then went into a long story about doing Jell-O shots before coming to work and now she is not allowed to drink at work anymore. When she brought our appetizer platter out she apologized that it looked bad, but she doesn’t do well with stuff like this together. When my friend asked about wine recommendations she said she doesn’t really like wine. Meanwhile the ‘bosses’ table is now filled with the kitchen help. The entire experience reflected why on a Friday night in downtown Indianapolis your restaurant is empty. I have always heard what a great restaurant the Greek Islands was but apparently that is a thing of the past.

Delicious!!. We had a very pleasant dining experience here. We sat outside on their small outdoor patio and the pugs were in tow. Love restaurants that are dog friendly…love them even more when they serve delicious food!! Our waiter was very friendly, prompt and polite. Even though we were the only tale dining outside, he didn’t forget about us and checked on us adequately. For appetizers we did the dip sampler (in layman’s terms) and the saganaki. The saganaki was the best I’ve tried out of other Greek restaurants I’ve been too. Very fresh. The dip sampler appetizer was really good as well. The pureed caviar one I didn’t think I would like based on the description, but it was absolutely delightful. Perfect blend of lemon in it. Their tzatziki sauce was phenomenally well put together. Great blend of seasoning in it, not bland like some can be. The hummus was traditional but it stood out to me more than other hummus dips. I don’t usually eat much hummus so I can’t say what made it stand out for me, but it was delish. We split the huge sampler platter and added an additional side greek salad. The ingredients in the salad were fresh but the dressing was too simple and lacked flavor. I could really only taste lemon in it. Our sampler platter was awesome!! The spinach and cheese pies were flaky, crispy and packed full of filling. The accompanying veggies and rice stood out to me just as much as the samples of the entrees did. The pistachio and moussaka were seasoned wonderfully and put together well. We both enjoyed everything the sampler platter had to offer. I particularly liked the gyro meat in the long strips that layed like ribbons on the plate. Wouldn’t hesitate to return and recommend this place to others.

Best restaraunt in Indy. The best Greek restaurant I have EVER been to…and I have visited many! A great low key atmosphere with huge helpings and reasonable prices. Everything there is amazing!!! My favorites are the tzaziki sauce, tiropita, gyros, saganaki, and the most AMAZING Greek potatoes that taste identical to my Grandmas! One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that the food is never off, if I go there and order a meal and love it…..I will love it the next three times I order it! Try this restaurant, and then try it a second time and a sixteenth, it is well worth it!

Good lunch spot. The atmosphere is weird, but I like divey places as long as the food is tasty.
