I’ve frequented and enjoyed this coffee house for years, using it for meetings when I am downtown. But I will never go back after my experience this week.I met a very prominent business acquaintance there for a business meeting. I picked this place on purpose because I have enjoyed it in the past. He had come early to meet with two others before our meeting. His two guests were both drinking coffee. I got my drink and grabbed another table where he joined me. We had been talking for about five minutes when we were interrupted by a server demanding my guest buy a drink or leave. My guest said he would if it was required and said he’d be up to the counter in a moment. The server demanded he give him an order and a credit card. So he ordered an iced tea as well.I should mention, my guest was the only African American man in the shop, and the only one getting this sort of treatment. I was absolutely floored. I have been there many, many times and never seen a customer treated that way. When the drink arrived my guest pointed out that he had brought two other people there for his earlier meeting who bought drinks and I pointed out that I had a drink and that he was my guest. The server was unapologetic, saying you can’t just sit in the shop and steal the wi-fi (neither of us ever opened a computer).Well, I sure hope the $2 iced tea was worth it. I will never return to Henrys and I have told everyone this story. I was deeply embarrassed to have ever suggested we meet there. My friend also said he’d never return, but I suppose that’s what Henrys wants — a whiter clientele. That’s sure how it felt. I am still stunned that this happened. I urge other customers to get their coffee or tea elsewhere.

Great sandwich’s !. We ate lunch here Saturday and were very pleased! I ordered the Veggie Panini and slaw – delicious! The panini was made with the right combination of veggie’s and cheese – very yummy… The service was quick and friendly. We also decided to have a piece of cherry pie, which we never do! It was delicious as well. We will definatley go back for brunch soon.

This is one my favorite hang outs. The breakfast menu is absolutely delicious and a great way to start my day off without having to worry about there being robotic service like corporate establishments. Last time I came in I purchased a yogurt parfait(the strawberry yogurt is an amazing upgrade.)I also got the Milky Way Au lait, which Thomas said he invited himself. Everyone that works here is always so cheery and efficient. Thanks for the awesome costumer service.

We are regulars at Henry’s and ate proud to have such a great independent coffee shop/cafe so close to home. The coffee is amazing and we always enjoy everything we have ordered to eat. The BLT bagel is a favorite! We hope you’ll check out Henry’s not just to have some great coffee, but also to support a great independent local business.

Some of the worst service I’ve ever had. We may have caught them at a bad morning, but still no excuse. The entire staff was unfriendly and seemed as if they didn’t want to be there. Messed our order up and didn’t offer us a side option when there was one. The staff made us feel uncomfortable and rushed. No one smiled, and it’s a little overpriced. 2 medium coffees and one bagel sandwich is $15? Cheaper at Starbucks and friendlier service, too. Maybe next time will be better, but we most likely will not give them another chance.
