Mediocre meals. I have enjoyed Delicia and decided to try La Mulita. That was a mistake. Although the waiter said that the fish tacos were amazing, not so. Bland and uninteresting. My two dinner companions were equally unimpressed with their meals.

Great mexican bar food. The location is great and it’s nice knowing that Mulita shares the kitchen with Delicia so you kind of get a few of the same dishes but cheaper to a degree. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and great drink selection. The margaritas were excellent, we got ours on the rocks and it was one of the cleanest and best tasting margaritas I’ve had, and I don’t really like margaritas. Beer selection was good too. We got several dishes since we had never been there. The cochinita pibil sliders are great, the chicken croquettes were awesome, albeit prob a bit overpriced, and one of the surprises was the TLAYUDA DE CHORIZO. The waiter described it as mexican pizza, which it basically was. Very tasty. All and all well worth the stop. As a warning things can get pricey fairly quickly between some drinks and the food. Portions are kind of like going to Barcelona Tapas were you pay an entree price but you can 2 items instead of 3, or 5 croquettes instead of a basket, etc. So value wise I wouldn’t say it’s awesome but the food and service are excellent.
Great flavor, small portions. As another reviewer mentioned, la mulita is a less expensive tapas and cocktails version of delicia. I had the tlayuda de chorizo which was delicious – for lack of a better comparison it is like a latin american take on pizza. Although the flavors were bold, the portions reminded me of tapas or a food truck – too small for the cost. I had expected to be more filled by an item off the dinner menu, but really the whole menu should be treated like appetizers.
Fantastic food at a great price. Very cool interior. Stellar service. So glad its in the neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back.
