Great atmousphere, friendly bartenders. Liberty st. has quickly become one of my favorite places to start my night or meet out on a weekday. When you first walk in, you can sit on the left side, or right side of the place. Left side is where they will have music on occasion, but majority of my visits have been spent on the right side with the long bar. It’s more cozy on that side and the bartenders will talk you up if your sitting alone waiting for friends. On that note, the bartenders are well-educated on the drinks and food, and will gladly give some A+ customer service. One of the bartenders and I had about a 10 min conversation on cheese, which was brilliant and funny. Two things to expect: A chill atmosphere, and a little higher prices. Don’t think you’ll be taking $2 shots, or $1 beers, the drinks are GREAT, and worth the price. Food is exceptional and also VERY worth the price. Take a date here for drinks and small plates or grab a couple friends to start your night with.My go to at Liberty is whiskey on the rocks and the cheese plate. For something fun, ask for the Happy Meal, it comes with a toy!

Classic cocktails done better than anywhere else. My husband and I used to go out all the time (until Baby #1 arrived), but we are still rather discerning. If I had read the reviews of this place before we went, we would have passed it by. I’m so glad we didn’t. Now, true, we didn’t have any food, so I can’t comment on that, but the drinks were amazing! We had a Hemingway daiquiri, a Sazerac & the Blackstrap & Cane & even though they sounded pretty scary, they each were absolutely top notch! They have the best of the best liquors & liqueurs, they make their own home made simple syrups & the bartenders (or at least the one we had) are truly passionate about their craft & so knowledgable. We will probably try it for dinner & I’ll add my two cents in soon about that. For now, if you’re looking for the best drinks in the city, this place is it.

Menu not online?. This is suppose to be a Downtown/Mass Ave restaurant in Indy… But I can’t find the menu online in 2014. Liberty Street has a website but it just has entertainment schedules and the history of the building. I already tried going in and looking at the menu. To be honest it was over priced and not exciting. Now I hear you have a new menu and I can’t find it to take a look. Now you want me to try it again? Ok I will but I need an online menu first. #basic #brandnew #mistakes #liveandlearn For some reason I feel like the people that run this place won’t understand what those hashtags mean or what is a hashtag. #2014 #getwithit

Poor service, marginal food.. We like to try all the paces downtown. When we went to this place, it was how horrible the service was. No apologies for being slow. And when our pizza finally came, it was cold and frankly not a very good pizza. We usually give places multiple chances; however, I don’t think we will be back.

Worst dining experience of my life. My parents took us to Liberty Street last night for dinner and drinks before a show. It started out as merely unimpressive: the seats were uncomfortable, our server wasnt knowledgeable about the food, and it took 15 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered a mix of apps, salads and entrees, and waited at least 45 minutes for our food, and each time we asked about its progress, the server said theyre plating it now. They kept putting us off, as we watched plate after plate of food being delivered to tables seated after us.So my dad left the table to find the owner and complain about our disappointment and how completely screwed our evening was, as we now only had five or ten minutes before we had to leave, and we still had no food. He returned, the food arrived, he asked for the check, and the server told us our meal was being comped. Then the server left our table and never once returned. We were thirsty, as our first round of drinks was long gone, and we had no water. We were hungry, finally feeling a sense of relief as we dug into our meals. But there was nothing remarkable about the food: rice that accompanied a bland steak tasted like Rice-a-Roni, salad was warm and limp and drowning in dressing, shrimp tacos had little flavor. Then suddenly, the owner appeared at our table. But Tammy Miller didnt approach us to apologize for our experience or empathize with our disappointment. We sat stunned as she stuck her finger in my dads facea full five minutes after their private conversation about our situation and with our table and the entire dining room in audienceand proceeded to berate him for complaining, telling him that if we ever returned, she would kick [our] asses out of here. I was appalled. What started as unimpressive had turned horrific, our minds blown by her complete lack of professionalism. When we got up to leave, the server stopped my dad and told him that the owner changed her mind about comping our meal. To add insult to injury, she reneged on the only form of apology we received by deciding to charge us for her outburst and ineffective management, for an inexcusable wait, mediocre food, and an overall experience that spurs me to tell everyone I know how very much this restaurantwhich replaced Yats, a beloved icon on Mass Ave.deserves to fail. There are a hundred restaurants within 10 minutes of Liberty Street that are better in every way, so my advice is to steer clear of this disaster.
