This is one of my favorite restaurants in Indianapolis. We had dinner here again Saturday and it didn’t disappoint. I had the pork po’boy, which was delicious. I also had quite a few sides. My favorites are the etouffee (with a bit of hot sauce) and the corn bread.
Been a here lot and can occasionally be over salted. The food’s fantastic (fried oysters are the bee’s knees), but even when I get oversalted food I don’t complain cuz it’s still pretty super edible and still pretty super delicious. Bread pudding doesn’t have raisins. That’s cool AF to me.
Enjoyed this little out of the way spot. The smoked sausage Po Boy over rice was delicious. Order your Po Boy just about any way you want. Order at counter for entre & drinks. Then for dine in, you have choices for unlimited sides. Diners, Drive-in’s and Dives needs to visit this place!!
Chicken poboy was delicious. Unlimited sides when you eat there. And the craft soda was delicious. Atmosphere was phenomenal. Staff was friendly and helpful!! I will be back!!
We just went the other day for dinner. It wasn’t packed, which was nice, we found a seat right away. I’ve had the sausage, the pork and the catfish but this time I ordered the crawfish po’boy…and I have to say it’s my favorite! Great breading, crispy, not messy like like the pork one… great overall sandwich. I will say that the etouffee tasted different this time around, more cheesy? And the cornbread was spicy! I don’t remember that from last time. One last thing, the bread pudding that day could have been cooked just a bit longer to get a good crust. I also ordered the chocolate soda… surprisingly delicious! It’s not yoohoo, it’s not Chocola… it’s different!
So, I had heard about this place a for a while. I love Cajun food as well as catfish. While my husband loved the place and enjoyed endless sides, I couldn’t help thinking Papa was missing something. My catfish was cooked longer than I would have liked and slightly burnt. I would be willing to try this place again, but after loving Yats and going to a Cajun place in Carmel, I’ll likely stick to what I know.
This place is amazing! The food taste great. If you don’t like spicy, there are other options to choose from. If you do like spicy, I recommend you sneak out some of their spicy table sauce (a two ounce mason jar works great). The staff are very professional and helpful. If I could wish for something, I wish they served alcohol. A beer would be a wonderful addition to my meal:)
