Small, but masters of the short order grill.. I went to Peppy Grill for breakfast the other day. I’m a huge fan of short-order places because in some ways, short order cooks are much like artists if they’re good. But I think that a short-order place is at its best at night and I wish I would’ve had a few hours to sit around with friends here at night, but in the morning it was very quiet and not a lot of customers were there. The server and the cook were friendly and my omelette was stuffed full of every ingredient you could think of for a standard omelette. The jalapenos heated things up a bit, which was nice. The American Cheese on top was okay, but I wish there was some shredded cheese on the inside. The hash browns were perfectly crispy, just as they should have been. And my toast had that delightful schmear of butter from a basting brush that was dipped in a pan of all-purpose grill butter.My bill was reasonable and I left full and happy. I’d love to return for a burger one day because I know that they make their own fresh-cut fries right there and that is a big enough draw in and of itself.
New Management is awesome!. I have lived in the fountain square area for about 4 years and started going to Peppy’s when I moved here. I stopped going after a while because the prices were so high and the food just wasn’t that great….greasy, cheap and overpriced food. Also, the help was not friendly at ALL! My husband and I went in last week for the first time in a long while…we saw that they have gotten new management…..we were pleasantly surprised with everything new….the prices are new….they are now LOWER! The food is much better! And the service is wonderful…they are full of smiles and much more friendly than before! I think that many people would agree, as Peppy’s was busier than I have ever seen it! We will be going back to Peppy on a more regular basis now that they have changed the management…..Great job to whoever the new owner is! 🙂
New owners has ruined peppy grill. I have been going to peppy grill for years and went to visit recently seeing that there is new owners.They took a family place and ruined it took down pictures that was drawn and put in frames from people that has been going there for years.They also treat employees like crap some of the employees have been there for almost 10-15 years and just fired them they need to realize that they get most of there money from regular customers the food is down grading for the price and if they want there business to grow they need to stop acting like they are better than everyone else. PEPPY GRILL WAS BETTER RAN BY MARY !!!!
The food is very greasy and very expensive for a short order restaurant. We had 3 people there for breakfast and, due to all sides being a la carte not inside any kind of meal deal, it cost over $50. No short order service should cost that much. Service is very surly and almost non-existant. You are also refused items on the menu if they are reserved for other times of day. Just save your money and go to Waffle House or Dennys.
The new owners have done so many wonderful changes much Cleaner better food and lot lower prices. The new owners are wonderful and friendly people. I really like the nice and warm welcome from the lady Susie she really makes you feel at home.
I wish I could rate the food but the customer service here is a joke. We came in after the fireworks and they were not busy. They only had people at two or three tables. We sat down and no one said a word to us. It was so awkward. It was like they didn’t want to serve us. I have never been totally ignored before. My husband, a restaurant manager, wanted to wait it out and after about 10 minutes we received a menu. Another 10 minutes went by and no one ever asked us if we wanted a beverage or if we wanted food. I got up and walked out. This is not acceptable and I could care less what their food tastes like. We will never return here to give it another shot.
