Feels like a Holiday Inn Express. Cookie cutter place that feels like you’re having the self serve breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express. No service, frozen food from Sysco, and a bartender doing a crossword. Hope the rent is cheap, or bye, bye birdie.

Excellent. I was very pleased with Sahm’s. I came with my boyfriend and his parents. We each had a different dish and were all happy. I ordered the bone in filet, the special of the night. Not only was it extremely delicious, it was also only $21. This steak was better than a similar cut, $50 more, at Harry and Izzy’s. The only odd thing I experienced was when I called earlier on Friday to make a reservation. The attendant took my name, party size, and reservation time. When I arrived at the restaurant, however, I was informed that they didn’t take reservations. Luckily I was able to still get a table, but thought it was odd nonetheless. Regardless I was very pleased with Sahm’s. For being so close to downtown the parking was ample and the food delicious. I highly recommend.

Yucky breakfasts. I ordered a veggie omelette. The cook was too lazy to make a real omelette, they just scrambled the veggies into the eggs. The veggies were not fresh-cut, they included Kale and green beans, old and obviously left overs from the prior week. I ate it because I was hungry, but it was gag-me bad. Never eating breakfast there again.

Really likes it. So today, I went to Sahm’s Tavern for devour downtown. As someone else stated, there is a spectacular view of the Indy skyline. The tavern itself consist of about 14 booths, 10 patio tables, and a full bar seating. We elected to sit in the booths and was immediately greeted by Michael Sahm, one of the owners of the 10 restaurants. They were started in 1986 and it has been a family operation from the beginning. We decide to start with the stuffed mushrooms, and I ordered a cup of their Alaskan clam chowder which was created by one of the Sahm sister while she was in Ketchacan, Alaska for 12 years. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for, with so much flavor from the spinach and mellowed with the cheese. Do not overlook the clam chowder as it is more flavorful that any New England clam chowder at the best seafood restaurants in Boston. For the main course we had 2 signature dishes from their catering menu: The pork tenderloin medallions and the Beef tenderloin medallions. In one word, both dishes were unbelieveably delicious. We finished up the meal with the Tollhouse dessert…it was so decadent and fabulously rich.Devour downtown is an opportunity to sample some of the best restaurants in Indy. Having tasted over half of the Winter and Summer offerings, I would really recommend that you put Sahm’s Tavern on the top of your list of restaurants to try during Devourdowntown. I guarantee that you won’t be sorry.

Ribs tasted old and Luke warm, once you got past the sauce. Baked potatoe cold and under baked. Won’t be back!

Oooops!. I visited this establishment 6Aug2011. It was listed on the Devour Downtown lists of Restaurants for 2011. Well, my friend and I who dine out often are always looking for somewhere new to go. We were 2 days too early for the special but decided to stay. We were not disappointed in our selections. The NY Strip Steak (Pittsburgh Style) was mouthwatering good accompanied with garlic mashed potatoes (choice of 2 sides). The cranberry salad was good also. They serve also a cream chicken artichoke soup that was heavenly. i forgot to mention the hot loaf of butter drizzled bread was delectable! The dinner was topped off with a slice of coffee cake (not as one can imagine). The cake had a magnificent blend of butter, sour cream, nuts and powdered sugar. OMG!!!! Definitely a winner! Thanks to Brandy, Marcus and Christian for making the stay worth while. Hail hail to the chef too.

Chicken Tacos. I went here for dinner and wish I came hungrier because there were many things on the menu that I wanted to try, but just didn’t have room for. I opted for the chicken tacos that were the night’s $8.95 special. The two soft flour tortillows had seasoned chicken and a cilantro cream sauce. There was also a side of chips and salsa and I added the evening’s side salad special of a strawberry salad. I loved the salad. It had walnuts, gorgonzola, and strawberry vinagarette. The tacos were a bit too spicy for me and the cilantro didn’t stand out as much as I’d hoped. Overall, I’d try this place again but wouldn’t go for the same thing. There was a meatloaf sandwich on the menu and a coffee cake dessert that I’ll probably go for instead.
