Customer Service. Today I experienced horrible customer service from non other than the owner of the Scratch Truck. Today they substituted chips for fries because their fryer is down. First of all, the owner should have a better attitude than I experienced today when I questioned him about the fries. The chips that he said were handmade from a place at the City Market were horrible, also if he has to substitute chips for fries it should be up to the customers discretion. He should just charge for the scratch burger if the customer doesn’t want fries they shouldn’t have to still pay $9.00 for nasty chips. I will not be going back to the Scratch Truck no time soon and I’ve been a good faithful customer until today. The owner needs to learn good customer services to patrons.
Nice addition to Penrod. My girlfriend and I got in line right before the lunch line snaked through the crowd. We shared a large order of the Poutine de Peru fries and a watermelon jalapeno lemonade. We did have to wait quite a bit but it was well worth it for sure. The hand cut potatoes are slathered in a wonderful mass of Peruvian yellow pepper sauce and cilantro and queso fresco. The only thing I wished for was more queso fresco. It was a really nice pop of cool freshness that set up for the nice flavor punch. The lemonade was good, but I think it was a poor match with the fries.
Disappointed. Finally got an opportunity to try the poutine fries, which I had been wanting to try for some time. The wait for one small order of fries was extremely long. There was grease all over the outside of the box which was not a good sign. The fries were limp and soggy and hard to eat. Take your chances elsewhere at least if you’re wanting fries.
Creative food. I can see becoming an addict of the Ginger lemonade. We enjoyed it quite a bit! Definitely will go again.
Good, not great.. Good but not as good as the hype surrounding it. i liked the basil lemonade a lot – a very unique concept. The tomato basil soup, fries, and mac and cheese were pretty good but not amazing. I will definitely try it again though before I write it off because I really do like the concept.
Poutine Fries. I went to the First Friday Truck Fest and really wanted to try a little bit of everything, so my husband and I got the poutine fries. This is a dish that I have always wanted to try because I have heard about it on shows on Food Network or the Cooking Channel. My husband watched them make it and he said that they made the gravy right there. It was really good! They did add some rosemary in this dish, which to me can be very overwhelming if too much is added. They probably could have held off on that some, but overall I really like this dish. I will definitely be trying more dishes from them when I see them on campus at IUPUI.
Best burger ever!!!. Had a Scratch Burger when it was parked outside of FroYo a couple of weeks ago. Been dreaming about it ever since. The bun was almost sweet! Seasoning and cheese was perfect. The fries were awesome. Come back Scratchtruck!!!!!
