Very good, but could have been baked just a tad longer. Big enough for two.20 Jun, 2014A perfect medium and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!20 Jun, 2014Good but not remarkable.20 Jun, 2014I had a great meal sitting in the bar area. Attentive but not overbearing waiter. The wedge salad was good but not remarkable. The 8 oz fillet was one of the best I’ve ever had. The lava cake was great, but big enough for two. Awesome single malt scotch selection.

With Comic Con and Big Ten basketball tourney in town Shula’s became the 4th option for a reservation. That probably is the best review point to be made. Food was average, service was spotty and slow.

Class Act. I had a wonderful dinner here. Started in the Bar with a glass of Merlot. Thankyou George and thankyou Dave – Both bartender and waitperson who were very welcoming and friendly. Great first impression. As for dinner. Started with Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes which was the best I’ve ever had! Period. If there are other fillers I could not see them, it looked and tasted like pure lump meat crab. Yum! The Shrimp Cocktail was BIG. The Shula Cut Petit Filet Mignon and Salmon were both cooked perfectly. One can tell it starts with great quality and then is brought to it’s apex by a skilled chef. Job well done.

Good but not great. I decided to have a birthday dinner here, utilizing a restaurant.com gift certificate. I was a little scared by the reviews, but ended up being satisfied overall. It was a little overpriced for the quality, and certainly there is some truth to the fact they survive by being in the hotel and catering to the out-of-towners who don’t know anybody. But, the BBQ shrimp app that was recommended to us was good. Our steaks were very good – better than the steaks we had at Capital Grille back on v-day, and the molten chocolate cake was excellent too. The sides of grilled asparagus and lobster mashed were blah. Asparagus was barely cooked and the lobster mashed had brown gravy on it (huh?). You definitely have to be a sports fan to enjoy this place. Not everyone is going to enjoy an old football placed on their plate with the steak menu on it.

Underwhelming. The service was excellent on a very busy evening. The food was not up to that standard. I am glad to pay for great food, but Shula’s does not justify the cost.

Great steak, forgettable sides. Dined with 4 others before a Colts game. Not my first choice, but other steakhouses were booked. Appetizer sampler of BBQ shrimp, calamari sticks, and crab cakes was not hot enough. Generic wedge salad. The filet was excellent and spot on at rare plus. Sides were very forgettable, especially the lobster mashed potatoes, which tasted like whipped potatoes with gravy and a few pieces of lobster Good wine list. With the other fine choices downtown,I doubt if i will dine here again.

Mediocre. Hubby and I had a disappointing meal here a couple of years ago but we decided to give it another chance last night… big mistake. It was even worse than we remembered. The atmosphere was pretentious. Our steaks were flavorless. Our tasteless mashed potatoes and spinach were served at room temperature. Overall, the service was spotty, slow and disorganized. There were some positives. The dining area is warm and inviting. Upon our arrival we were promptly seated next to a large window which made for some interesting people watching. The Gen Con Gaming Conventioneers walking by kept us entertained. My wedge salad and hubby’s caesar salad were both excellent. Our desserts of cheesecake and berries were good. However, everything else was poorly prepared and overpriced. This restaurants location in a large hotel is probably the only thing that has kept it in business. I doubt that they get very many local repeat customers. I know we won’t be going back. There are better steakhouse options available in Indy. In my opinion Mo’s, Morton’s, Ruth Chris, Sullivan’s and Peterson’s are all superior to Shula’s.
