Decent Breakfast and Great service!. Wife and I visited this long time establishment a couple of weeks ago.. Great service… The breakfast was better than average! The sausage gravy and dried beef gravy were average but would not discourage others to try otherwise. We’ll be back!
A hidden dinner drives an dives, you’ll miss it if your not looking for a nice family owned an friendly dine in. Great place, fresh flowers at your table, friendly staff an good service. We went for breakfast an had the biscuits an gravy, good stuff. On the side baccon an scrambled eggs, all hit the spot. We also had a sausage western omlet with grilled veggies, well done. We will be back for dinner!
Great Family Style. Down home cooking at its best…..I havent had a bad meal yet, watch out for the strawberry shortcake….holy moly it could feed the whole family.
Best Kept Secret on Southside!. If you like comfort food with no frills this is the place for you. I don’t know what the guy was talking about that the breaded tenderloin was dry and overcooked. The Brd Tenderloin is the best in the city hand down. My husband orders it every time we eat here which is at least once a week. The waitresses are friendly, and know everyone by first name. The daily specials for only $6.09 are all delicious and vary daily. Everything from Baked Pork Tenderloin w/ Dressing, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Baked Apples and Roll. The Baked Apples are like eating a sinful dessert. Speaking of desserts, the homemade pies are yummy as well. The Strawberry Shortcake(homemade shortcake) and Huge Brownie Sundae, that will both feed 2-3 people are standard on the menu and both scrumptous. Once you try Sister’s Place you’ll go back again and again. You can’t find food this good and cheap anywhere else in the city!
Mediocre. The service was fast and the fries were fine. Two problems would probably keep me from returning: (1) our waitress never offered to refill my water glass, which was all I had to drink, although I finished it well before I was done eating; (2) the breaded tenderloin was large, but it over-cooked and dry, not nearly as good as a number of tenderloins I have had around central Indiana.
Very nice place to eat, kind of out of the way but worth it. Apparently owned by the same people that own Flap Jacks on southside. Good food. Good Service. Can’t really remember what the tea was like, but I know it was brewed, probably sweetened, but don’t remember drinking more than one glass, so probably just ok.
