Went here for breakfast, unfortunately it was empty and not many people which kinda adds to the environment. The food was ok- we did have a child and that wasn’t handled very well:(. I had the porkbelly egg Benedict and it was tasty, but nothing to go home and tell everyone. I had a breakfast in Palm Springs at cheekys that I was hoping this was similar given the price. It was not. Maybe dinner is better.

We had an exceptional experience at Spoke & Steele while grabbing a quick breakfast before heading out of town. Everything we ordered was great. Would recommend the traditional 2 egg breakfast or the yogurt parfait. Great coffee is always a plus as well.

Slow service.. We went here for lunch. The food was good but the service was extremely slow. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. I would not advise going here for lunch if you only have an hour.

Menu was very lacking, food not very good, service was unacceptable, for the money it should be so much better, and the bar was non exsistat, so please don’t bother wit this restaurant

Visited with two other couples for my husbands birthday. Arrived about a half hour before our reservation to have a drink at the bar. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The bar staff was a little underwhelming and not very helpful when we asked for recommendations, but the cocktail menu had some nice options. Our server Sarah was very nice and explained the menu to us, but the menu is slightly confusing and somewhat limited for my tastes. My husband and I ordered the Morman Funeral Potatoes and while they were delicious, I thought they were a little heavy as an appetizer. I would have loved them as a side dish. Our friends ordered a cheese board (which strangely isn’t on the menu) but they were brought the charcuterie board and we waited another 20 minutes for the correct appetizer to come out. We ordered another round of cocktails and received half of them in about 10 minutes and waited another 10 minutes for the rest. A guest came in and sat near us and was never helped. He finally got up and asked someone to wait on him and ordered a drink. He tired of waiting for the server to bring his drink and finally went and got it from the bar. When our meal came, the food was very good. I ordered the meatloaf nugs (awesome) and the tomato bisque soup. My husband ordered the filet special and although it was slightly over cooked for his tastes, he enjoyed his meal. We asked for a dessert menu and waited about 10 minutes, so we asked for our checks and waited for those as well. Seems to be a lot of waiting going on for a restaurant with a lot of empty tables. We won’t be back.

TURNER’S A LOSS: SPOKE AND STEELE A LOSER.. Spoke and Steele in Le Meridien (formerly The Canterbury Hotel) which replaced Turner’s is rather sad. Turner’s was an elegant cozy dining experience with superb culinary preparations: it was a place for both lunch meetings where one could actually converse without loud music or be a special night out such as a birthday or anniversary. I was there on average twice a month for business and took out of town guests there and my partner and I enjoyed dining there frequently and for our anniversary as well as Christmas Eve. Turner’s had warmth and traditional elegance without being stuffy: you could go in there in dress casual or in business attire; the menu never disappointed. Now, with the ‘makeover’ and new staff, not only do diners have to now go up and out to the lobby to the second floor to use the restrooms, but the dining room itself, (and I use the term ‘dining’ loosely) is bland at best, dull and white without character at worse. I’ve been there twice now: the lunch menu is BIZARRE; a hamburger, a cheeseburger came with several large potato quarters which were cold: one of us asked for no cheese, the other said the cheeseburger was fine: we both got no cheese. While our water glasses were filled frequently, the wait staff made the classic mistake of never asking if I wanted a refill on coffee. The other items on the lunch and dinner menu are equally strange and do not entice. There is no warmth or character to this place: the entire dining room was made over into an extension of the bar to hang out. We won’t be back: Turner’s was a gem. It’s replacement both dcor and menu—leaves much to be desired. Thumbs down and very sad.

Contemporary Dining. This was a Valentine’s Day dinner and, as such, the restaurant was busy. We were seated right away and served by Dante, who did a good job. This is another noisy place, which was not unexpected. Not real suited for a ‘romantic’ dinner, but we did not mind. We understand that you can dine in the lounge area of the hotel, which is first come first served. That might better lend itself to a quiet repast. I had the Morman Funeral Potatoes which is hash browns, mushroom creme, pickled scallions and corn flakes, in a skillet. Fantastic! Also the Tomato Bisque. Good, but not the best I have ever had, and not quite hot enough. My wife had the ‘Shredder’ burger, with fries. She rated the burger an 8/10, although a little thin, considering it was $14. The fries, thick cut, were very good. The decor is contemporary and ‘New Yorky’, which we liked. The bar is right in the dining area and has quite a few seats. Good for a casual stop. We like that they strive to use Indiana ingredients. This is not a place for the faint-of-wallet, but worth a visit. We will return.
