Awesome fried chicken! Wait was minimal although they were busy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Mac and cheese was fantastic as were the fries. Spoonbread and grits both a bit on the dry side but ok. House corn nuts very addictive… I need a bag to go please!!!

We were passing through when we found this place. It appears from some of the other reviews that this location may have some history. I don’t know about that. What I can say is that The Eagle has a nice atmosphere in a neat little section of town. Things that are important to me in this stage of life are: they have high chairs, and they have a kids menu. We found the server to be very friendly and helpful. The greeter was a little cold and seemed a little perturbed that she had to deal with a high chair, but maybe that is me projecting my own anxiety on others. :-)The place had a nice beer selection. About 3/4 of their menu was beer and wine. If you are like me and you like beer but you have unique tastes, you may still find something here. I was excited that they had a Flanders Red Ale. It was not a top shelf beer and it wasn’t on draft, but the fact that I could enjoy a Flanders at all was nice. Finally, the food was very good. This is a southern comfort kitchen specializing in friend chicken. Being from the south, I can vouch, for what it’s worth, that their fried chicken is legit. We tried a couple of their sides and they were very good as well. All in all, this place was a solid choice if you’re looking for some good food and a descent beer selection.

I met a girlfriend here on a week day. The staff were all courteous and the decor/seating/bathrooms are all nice. The problem for me is there is very few items on the menu for vegetarians. I ordered the pickled veggies, and some fries- which were really tasty. I generally don’t go out to eat a salad, or pasta. My friend did enjoy the chicken and said it was excellent. The outside deck is fantastic for cocktails and conversation!

This is the site of the now gone Front Page Tavern. Went for lunch. The menu is a little limited but has their signature comfort foods. I had a small order of Country Greens and the Mac & Cheese with Garlic Bread Crumbs. The salad was good and the M&C was very good. My wife had the M&C without the breadcrumbs and a 1/4 Chicken. She loved the moist chicken even though it was a little spicy for her, as was the M&C. The service was excellent and the portions were large. We were approached by several of the staff to see how we were doing. Lindsay, our server, was very polite and helpful. The decor is, ummm, backwoods country? Good beer selection but the wines were a little pricy. Food prices were good. There is a large patio area outside which will be popular. On the downside, it was noisy and the soul/folk/rock music being played was also too loud. The seating is mostly communal style. The bar stools did not have backs and no bar rail along one side, Anytime the door opened there was a blast of cold air that went through the whole place. We would recommend it, but, due to my wife’s diet problems with spicy foods, would return only if asked by other people who wanted to try it.
