Went here for lunch today and was really impressed. I had the chipotle beef tamale with rice, chips and hot salsa. My wife had the poblano pepper tamale (I had a bite and it was good), beans, chips and guacamole. The rice was a little bland but everything else was great.
You won’t find better food in Indy. I go here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I go at least a few times a week. The morning staff is super friendly at 6:30am, a great way to start any day. I’ve had several different things and they were all delicious. Steak and egg tacos in the morning, pork for dinner and I couldn’t be happier. The tamales are also the best I’ve ever had.
Skip the Tamales and get the Nachos. You want me to tell you that the tamales are amazing. They are good, but the nachos are amazing. I recommend the spicy chipotle chicken. Then add The Tamale Place’s blend of fresh serranos and jalapenos and some salsita.
