Muy Autentico. While on the way home from Chicago we were hungry and decided to look for something in Lafayette. We found Mi Cabanita on another popular site. And Im very glad we did. If you see this review and are hungry too, pull off the Interstate and enjoy some home cooked Mexican food.Any place that has lengua tacos is an automatic stop for me. The soft tacos are offered with corn or flour tortillas. And for a few cents more, they will add traditional American trimmings; lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and etc. They will bring sauce in squeeze bottles, green and red, that was excellent but not for the faint of heart. They have many other item on the menu but we concentrated on the tacos because where I come from, they serve the tacos on Doritos for which you have to pay in advance and then squirt some sauce on them from a little packet at your table that hasnt been wiped down in several hours.To top it all off, order yourself a cup of the traditional Mexican street food Esquites, roasted corn served with lime juice, chili powder and mayonnaise.Mi Cabanita is not fancy but its very clean and the people working there were very friendly to us. And you can catch up on your favorite telenovela from the flat screen on the wall.
