Great Service, Good Food!. Great place to stop and eat when visiting Shipshewana. Their service is efficient and friendly. It was Griday and I had the fish. It was excellent. The cole slaw tasted like homemade and was very good. The only let down were the mashed potatoes. They tasted like box potatoes. Better if made from real potatoes.

I love this place. The food is all home cooked and the people are very friendly. The price is very reasonable as well. I use to go to the blue gate restraunt but this place puts that place to shame. I’ve been here 3 times now. We went with a party of 4 people. Some people at our table has AYCE while others just had a sand which. You can’t do that at blue gate. Right down the street is the overpriced blue gate restraunt. I don’t like that all the people at your table have to have the all you can eat other wise you can’t have that option. The last time I was at blue gate the red meat had a rotten foul taste to it. The manager took the meat back but did not refund the meal or discount the meal. I won’t be going back again.

Mashed potatoes and side salad were good. The fried fish was bad!!! It was on their buffet that night, but i didnt have buffet, i ordered the dinner and i am sure my fish was taken off buffet and on my plate! It was dry, cold and rubbery! Friendly service tho. I might try them again nxt time i am in Shipsh., but def wont be getting fried fish!!!

Not the best, but better than average. LOL, title doesn’t sound very positive, but honestly, ’tis good food. Service was friendly and prompt, no issues at all there, nor with check-out. Food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared & laid out. I had the fried chicken, few thighs,,, yeap, stuffed myself silly, as they were quite good. BTW, Klemm’s in Ft Wayne, IN, and Cookin’ From Scratch near Rolla, MO are two of my favorites, as point of reference. Salad and its fixings were fresh and tasty, and the chicken noodle soup is likewise good. The decor is nothing special, could be fixed up nicer. But for the price and service and quality and quantity, this is good place to get some food.

Nice place. We ate there twice this summer and we have no complaints at all. A whole lot cheaper than eating downtown at that fancy restaurant.
