Mexican food with a twist. My family and I have been in several times, and have enjoyed them each time. The dcor is nice, the staff friendly, and the food is good. They have your standard fare (enchilada’s, taco’s, burritos…etc) and a nice selection of seafood offerings…however, they have their own special twists to many of the items and offerings which makes them worth the stop.Twist #1 = They have a chipotle salsa. its done well and great… if you’re a chipotle fan. (Wish; an alternate salsa option for those not so fond of chipotle)Twist #2 = The have a choice of sides for your entre/combo. This is a nice break from the standard refried beans/rice/salad offerings all the other places offer. The creamed spinach side is one of my favorites.Twist #3 = They have their own spice/herb take on many of the dishes. Very refreshing, very flavorful. I nice variation from the standard fair.Twist #4 = The have an avocado enchilada. My wife loved it. I got to try it, and it was good. However, I was only allowed one bite.Twist #? = There’s much of their menu we haven’t tried yet….looking forward to discovering more twists.So, stop by, give them a try and see if you like their twists.
Don’t let the unassuming storefront fool you. This is a great Mexican restaurant. Food was excellent, service was friendly.
This is not only the best Mexican food I have had in the Indy area, it is among the best restaurant food I’ve had in months, maybe years. I Had their Pescado Veracruz, Mahi-Mahi with an incredible cream sauce and whole large shrimp to top. My taste buds haven’t been jazzed like this in soooo long! My wife had tamales – actual fresh-made tamales still in the husks. Only so-so aspect was the complimentary salsa – i am not a big chipotle fan. The service is prompt and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The chef came to our table to inquire as to how our dinner was proceeding. Second time we’ve eaten there (thanks Groupon!), and we will be back often.
This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. You won’t find combos 1-50 like other places. Everything is fresh. The chips are the best around as they are Cantina style super thin. The tamales are excellent. My favorite has to be the chicken Fajita nachos. The chef comes out and greets the guests. The wait staff is sociable and so very friendly. Lots of regulars. A hidden gem.
Good Food. This is fast becoming my most favorite mexican food restaurant. The food is good and so is the salsa and the ambiance. Service is good and the waiters are all very friendly and accomodating.
Best Mexican restaurant on the east side!. If you are an east-sider and you like Abuelo’s but don’t want to drive all the way to Carmel or west 86th the you should try Mi Tenampa. The flavors are just as good and the prices are better. The decor is nice but not fancy. It kind of reminds me of the old Don Pablo’s I used to go to on the west side but less elaborate. Casual atmosphere but better put together than most strip mall Mexican places. However, the food is really why I like this place. The quality is clearly better than any of the many La Hacienda type places around town. And I like La Hacienda, but I really like Mi Tenampa. The owner always comes to our table to ask how our meal is. Nice service.
Best Mexican Restaurant EVER!!!!!!. I ate lunch at Mi Tenampa’s today (like I do every week) and I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is AMAZING and the service is the best I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. Their recently added lunch specials are so affordable. They have specials for $5.99 and $6.99 that includes a drink (cheaper than fast food). The place is always clean and the food is consistently delicious. You have got to check this place out!!!! Did I mention FREE taco Friday’s? I asked them about it and they told me that you get a free taco on Friday’s with any drink purchase. I was told about this place by a friend and was a little hesitant but I’m glad I went. AND, keep going back every week.
