Not for me….. The food was good. But our whole evening was ruined by the rudeness of the hostess. They could of seated us sooner but didn’t seem like we were a priority I guess they don’t need our business. Truly amazing she set our check set down as the same time as our dessert. It was very clear they wanted to go home. It’s too bad that had to be so very hateful. They must have all the business they need so they don’t have to be nice.
Outstanding food, wonderful service, cool old building out in the boonies. This is a wonderful restaurant and our server (Chip) was first rate. The house smoked salmon appetizer was the best I’ve ever had. Good list of interesting beer on tap.
By far one of the best restaurants and atmosphere in Indiana. Truly unique and unpretentious. Great food always something different.
Fabulous. Had Cobia fish. The best tomato soup ever. Shrimp cocktail. Cobia fish. Excellent. Key lime pie. Worth the drive. Can’t wait to come back.
Bad Experience at Bonge’s. We will never go back to Bonge’s Tavern! The food is excellent but over priced . The staff and hostess are extremely rude. Our experience was terrible because of the poor service and treatment we received.
Unique experience. You have to try this place. Tailgating while you wait for a table is awesome. Then the food… sooo good. Order the perkinsville duck off the chalkboard menu if you don’t know what you should try. Also, start with the tomato soup, it’ll be the best you’ve ever had, gauranteed. Yes, it’s pricey, but you are paying for a whole experience and top notch food… and it’s not outrageously priced by any means.
I would not go there again!. After trying to get into this place twice before, we went with a group and had reservations. Big mistake! I think the reason this place is so popular, is that you can tailgate prior to being seated to eat. This way, it doesn’t matter what the food tastes like or the inside of the restaurant looks like (if you’ve had enough to drink). We did not do this. Tables are sticky and have plastic table clothes.I ordered an oyster appetizer. The portion was good, but honestly, it did not taste fresh. the presentation was in a coffee cup mixed with cocktail sauce. I ordered the prime rib which came with salad and a side. The salad was not fresh, I don’t remember the side and the prime rib was good tasting, but luke warm. My wife had the prime rib and she experienced the same. She had a glass of wine and I had two beers. total bill was over $100 with tip. Service was indifferent and to top everything off. We were told to leave our table because they had another reservation at 7 pm. The waitress took my unfinished beer from the table. Really? Save yourself the trip.
