We have been here before and we stopped because my wife wanted the really cheesy nachos. Well, we did not see them on the current menu. Disappointed!. I had Black Beans and Lime Rice which were served in two small bowls, making it awkward to eat. The beans were in a tasty broth but the rice was a little bland. It was good once I spiced it up with some of my wife’s guacamole and some salsa. If you are vegetarian, be sure not to order the Mexican rice. My wife had the Durango Burrito which had a spicy red sauce, but she still liked it. The salsa is served with three different flavors. They were all good. The Chips and Salsa are free and unlimited, although I prefer the more rigid chips. We were served by either Isaac or Cedric Is-??? He did a good job, however, the food was a little slow getting to us. One thing missing was an assortment of hot sauces that you find at almost any mexican restaurant, although I’m sure, if we asked, they would provide some. The decor is beautiful. This could be a ‘fine dining’ room, if it had white tablecloths and a few other changes. Great wall murals and a high domed ceiling in the main room. The menu was extensive with a lot of options. If we were in the neighborhood, we would return.
Great Meal and Fantastic Service!. Everything we ordered was very good. Only complaint was fajita tacos were on the fatty side a bit. The Jalapeno Cheese Fritters and Chile con Queso were both extremely good tasting appetizers. The house salsas were pretty good too. The other entrees we had with various enchiladas and the Beef & Cheese Chimichanga were all filling and tasted good. Pics included. Enjoy!

Great. Good food. Excellent service.
Great Restaurant and Good Times. Every time my husband and I have eaten here the overall dining experience has been wonderful. They have great appetizers and the entrees are delicious. Followed with great drinks and service. This is one of our favorites!
Excellent meal….. This was our first visit to Abuelo’s this afternoon, Aug. 1, 2010. We both enjoyed our meals. We had Abuelo’s dip sampler, which was very good. I had salmon Santa Cruz, my wife had Alambre De Camaron. They were both cooked to perfection. My wife thought they could have used less bacon around the shrimp. The help was very nice. We will be back. Out of 5 stars we give the restaurant 4 1/2 stars.
Faux Mexican. It was a cold rainy evening and there were probably 20 people max in the restaurant, yet they managed to screw up the order and bring everything out ice cold. How you can manage to make everything look as though it been sitting under a flood light for hours boggles the mind. To add insult to injury the service was even slower and colder. Save your money and go somewhere else.
