Corn dogs are always bomb! Could use better service though.. Calling in can be a hassle at night but I do enjoy the atmosphere when I go. I hear the burgers are great too.. I just haven’t made it past the hotdogs
Decent food at a good price. Small dark pub with a few tables and a bar. Seems like a decent atmosphere. Chicago beef was fresh and spicy with a good bread. A lot of meat for the price. Prompt carry out service when not crowded. I was advised it would take 35 minutes for a simple carry out when they were a bit busy. Today they weren’t busy so it was quick. Decent place.
Remarkably bad, poorly presented, overpriced food. THIS IS NOT CHICAGO STYLE DELI FOOD AT ALL! The Maxwell Street polish sausage was bland, lukewarm and not at all juicy with a smattering of grilled onions. The Italian beef sandwich was sawdust dry and over powered by oregano. The buns on both were very good. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING with a very unpleasant, long lasting after taste.
Ah finally I get to offer my take on this shining star in Broad Ripple. Me and my friend Tony Papaya had a lunch of 20 smoked wings, loaded beer cheese bacon fries, and the smoked brisket sandwiches. Wings and fries were excellent. Very smokey and flavorful wings and the fries were perfect with them. Now the brisket was truly as dry as the Sahara Desert, which made a brother frown, because I had heard so much about it. considering how good the other items were I will definitely give the brisket another try. A bit pricey imho. With Tony’s beer and my coke and tip it was over 50 but nonetheless another winner in the Broad Ripple area.
Great Place. Been here twice – once on a Thursday night and once on a Friday for lunch. Thursday night it was packed with live music. Friday we were one of the only people there. Both times were great and the food is amazing. Italian Beef was great, fries are amazing. The loaded tater tots are fantastic with great smoked pork on top and the Old Style is ice cold and on draft – we will be back many times! Give this place a shot!
Beef was good.. Bread was a little stale.. If you can make that sandwich perfect get turano bread!
I have to say the service here is superb. I just witnessed the event that another patron then followed up with a scathing review. Seems they’re a little butt hurt. The manager did in fact ask the folks that were squatting in Fat Dan’s seating with another restaurant ‘s offerings to leave. He was both professional and diplomatic. No reason to damage the manager’s or this establishment’s reputation. Some folks just love to bitch about anything. Fat Dan’s is great food and great customer service. I will be returning for many great nights in the future!!!
