When we ordered, my boyfriend wanted a plain hamburger with lettuce only and it came with cheese, so we sent it back to be remade. Then my burger (fats Havana) came with cheese in only 1/2 the burger and not enough pickles. When the check came, the server put my card through for another table. She voided it to charge the corrected amount of my bill and had another server tell me what she did wrong… will not be going back!
First time to a place I’ve been wanting to for awhile. I informed staff this was my first visit which gave them a chance to set my expectations.Atmosphere 5.0 Loud, board games, sports, BBQ aroma, decor all awesome.Menu 5.0 Awesome selection. Chicago dogs and beef, NY Deli, Southern smoke house, Midwest burger and fries.Service 2.0 Absolute fail. Confirmed by my 7 year old. Took over 30 minutes to get an Italian beef, fries, and corn dog. If this is the norm I should have been told. Ordered a large fry for myself and son. There was enough fries for a table of eight. Should have told me I was ordering way to much.Food 3.0 Probably would have been higher if our food was hot. Ordered Italian beef dipped but the bun was dry and it was probably room temperature at best. Beef had good flavor and was tender. Corn dog for my son looked house made but it too was only warm. Fresh cut fries were good.Drink 4.5 Good beer selection.I’ll give it another chance.
For a Chicago restaurant outside of Chicago this place isn’t too bad. My friend had the wings which he said we decent but not great. I had the Havana burger, which was a cheeseburger with smoked pork on top. The burger was mediocre (tasted like a pre-made frozen patty with no seasoning) but the pork was really good. I’d like to go back and try more of the deli foods, as I think that is their specialty and not the burgers that take up the entire middle section of the menu.
