Delicious Ramen! The sushi is always great and stacked with seafood. Service is nice and fast. They’ve recently added more tables too. Great place for dinner for two.

I had high expectations seeing all the great reviews and a score of 4.4/5.0. I love good susho, I made a 30 minute trip just to try it. Be prepared for the lack of curb appeal at this location. My first thought was that my GPS had made a mistake. I had the MISO soup, tuna nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, and shrimp tempura. I expect MISO soup to be bland, but this MISO soup was really bland. The shrimp tempura had a nice coating, but the rice was what really killed it. The rice was mushy, and only slightly more formed than oatmeal. Likely overcooked. The tuna was good without the rice underneath it. The yellowtail is usually my favorite fish, but here it was just OK. Again, the rice killed it. The Wasabi was more on the liquid side of pasty, and not very hot. Perhaps I’m spoiled by the robust spiciness of Wasabi that is more the consistency of Play-doh. The ginger had a good flavor, but it was served more like a ginger puree than slices of ginger. Also, the portions of ginger and Wasabi were about the size of a spherical dime. If you frequent this place, and you like it, kudos to you. I found the whole experience and value uninspiring.

Just like Tokyo. I visited Ichiban Noodles two weeks after returning from Tokyo. The ramen I had at Ichiban was exactly like I had in Tokyo. The food was fantastic, the service superb, and the prices very reasonable. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant this is not it. If you want authentic food, you’ve found it!

Long time favorite for sushi!. I have stopped by Ichiban for years. I used to live in the area so once a week I’d go there for lunch, or call in my order. Sure, the building’s not much, but the service was great and I love the soft shell crab roll – can’t get one like it anywhere else. I since moved 30 miles north, but whenever I get the chance to come to Indy, I call in an order. And, they remember me! (Well, at least they act like they do – and that’s ok – they are very friendly!) A gem on Indy’s NE side!

Very nice hospitality. The people that run the restaurant were delightful, you can tell they care about their customers. The food was good as well, my new favorite Japanese food spot!

They’re Soup-er. I love this quaint, friendly, little place. They have soups, sushi and some basic Japanese dishes. I am going to focus on the soups….especially during this colder part of the year. Ichiban’s soups are warm, wonderful and tasty. There’s four basic soups available – tempura, vegetable, seafood and pork cutlet, you choose the type of noodles (Udon, Ramen, or Soba). My favorites for this time of year are the Udon and Ramen soups – I like the pork and tempura soups the best. They use a good, delicate soup, that you can spice up a bit if you like. The Udon noodles are soft and unctuous, The Ramen are tasty…with just the right amount of …chew. (I like the sobas too…but I prefer my buckwheat noodles cold…with a side appetizer of tempura.) Speaking of the tempura…, it’s crispy, light and full of flavor.

A friend recommended this place to me, so on a girls night out I recommended this place not knowing what it looked like. As we drove up, we thought it was hella shady and were scared to come in. But we did and it’s safe to say this is THE best sushi place I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to lots of sushi places, including the hottest places in NYC And the DC area. Definitely gonna revisit
