Good food, limited meat options (yes, I know this is an Indian Place). I don’t have too much experience with Indian Buffets. I only know what I’ve had from 2 previous places. One of the best I’ve been to, Apna in Columbus, was a single line, much like India Palace, but it had about 6 meat dishes to choose from (multiple chicken, 1 goat). India Palace had maybe 4 chicken dishes on the entire line. This forced me to have more vegetarian dishes which were admittedly, still delicious, but I felt as if I wasn’t quite getting my money’s worth. One of the more surprising dishes was a vegetable fritter which had different vegetables smashed into one, breaded and fried. Delicious. This place has a very nice interior which the outside does not seem to give the impression of, but I felt much more pampered than other places.I genuinely liked India Palace, but I do not think they are the best Indian place in the Indianapolis area, and I’ll be on the lookout for which one is.
What a variety & cordiality. I went there few days back ans it was the most elaborate cariety I’ve seen around in Indy for buffet. All dishes even tasted great and were fresh.Another thing that left us super impressed was warmth of the staff. Despite of little trouble by our young one, they were cordial with child. Unlike few other where they start making faces.Highly recommended. Certainly the best Indian food of Indy area.
Best Buffet. I have only been to India Palace for the buffet (same with Shalimar). This is the biggest Indian buffet in town. Their vegetarian selection is larger than other places’ entire buffet. Then you get that much more selection when you head on to the meats. I’ve seen goat and lamb most times I’ve gone. Be careful of the bones, but how often to do you see goat on a menu in this town, let alone a buffet? Service is always super friendly as well. It’s worth a trip to the other side of town just to eat here. Of course, I have to stop by Saraga since I’m on that side of town.
I’m a 3 strike kind of diner, so I gave this place the same number of times to make me a happy customer. Our last time there was early evening. Food was cold, dry, small portions, and the worst service one could imagine. The real kicker was that there were only two other customers in the entire restaurant. Will not be back for this one. India Garden in Broadripple still has my top vote in Indy…
My first experience with Indian food. I’ve never had Indian food before in any quantity. We decided to go to India Palace for the lunch buffet and I was really impressed. It has a very nice atmosphere. You feel like you’re eating much finer dining than a buffet. I really enjoyed the food…even though it being my first time eating Indian food I wasn’t able to identify most of what I was eating. I’m adventurous like that, so it didn’t matter. I didn’t even care when I took a bite of something that bit me back in its spiciness. It was some kind of dumpling-looking thing. I wasn’t expecting it to be hot and was caught off guard, but I like spicy food so I was good with that. The only real disappointment was some of the attempts they made at dessert. There was something that looked like homemade gummy worms. They weren’t very good. I’m not always up for dessert…especially for lunch; anyway, so I wasn’t even bothered by that. All in all, I want to go back…I just don’t know anyone else who likes Indian food.
Terrific. The food here is delicious and arrives quickly. We ordered the garlic naan and the chicken tiki marsala. Both items were great. On a whim we ordered a cocktail, the nirvana. It was very unusual but absolutely wonderful. We sucked the first ones down and ordered more. Other than the fab food and drink, the place was clean, bright and welcoming.
Best bufffet. I tried all over the places in Indiana, Michigan , Chicago but found this buffet is the best of all. Price is the killer and food is delicious. Whenever i come to indy i directly go there without thinking about any other restaurant. Big hit is kids eat free you can’t beat that. Their lamb curry is wonderful and chicken dishes are great.
