Long Time Favorite. We have been eating at Yen Ching on E. Washington Street for well over 30 years….it is consistently good. We love the Sizzling Rice soup. It truly sizzles! Their pot stickers are wonderful. My wife and I have a 1/2 order of pot stickers and 1/2 order crab Rangoon, not known that they can do that….the Moo Shu pork is excellent. I admit the place is dated, but that is part of the charm. Don’t go there looking for a P.F. Chang experience as you will be totally disappointed. This is more of a neighborhood favorite. Jimmy is the owner, always there…good people…waitresses can be blunt…part of the charm.
Consistently GOOD FOOD, GREAT VALUE ( RUDE WAITRESS ALL THE TIME). We been eating here for maybe almost 4yrs. Dinner specials is a good value. Always taste good, from the egg roll, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup down to the main course. We always have left over to take out which is equivalent for another meal for two. Waitress 2 of them are consistently very rude and unfriendly. I think you have to give them a fortune big time tip for them to be nice you. Thats what I thought. manager is always nice regardless, even when they’re busy. Place is overdue for renovation or make over. Food is Excellent! Still I highly recommend.
Walk. I would expect professionals to be able to extend past their personal thoughts and ideas in the interest of business. These people cannot. I will not waste my time in a recant. But I will say that I do not recommend any brown skinned person visit this establishment. It was made very clear to us that we were not welcome. We left before we ordered. As far as I am concerned, they are racists and can go to hell.
Yen ching OVER PRICED. This place is over priced and the food sucks big time $30.00 for 2 soups 1 rice i dinner at lunch really
Best asian food in Indy!
David and Tina. We have been eating there for over thirty years. The best Chinese food we have ever eaten.
I’ll be back. Tonight was our first time to dine at Yen Ching (East Washington Street). I especially loved the spinach bean curd soup, veggie egg rolls and crabmeat rangoon. My son-in-law, who lived in Mongolia for a year, loved the pork dish he ordered. My grandson loved it all; especially the shrimp in lobster sauce, as did I. From some of the reviews, I was expecting good food in a not-so-good place. The food was good, and the whole experience was a very pleasant one.My wife usually sneezes multiple times as a result of the high MSG most Chinese restaurants put in there food. She has not sneezed a single time since we completed our meal (almost two hours ago). Well done Yen Ching!
