We were only there long enough to take an apple shot. Which we loved. We would have loved to be there longer but they don’t offer a family dining experience so my 16 year old step daughter couldn’t come in to experience the food and since this was a family vacation we couldnt just leave her and go by ourselves. This building is two stories tall and there is more than enough space for a family dining area that doesn’t require you to be 21 to enter. In their defense this seemed to be a common theme in Michigan City of the resturants not having an under 21 area for families to eat. It’s a huge missed opportunity because we ran into numerous families that had the same complaints. Many families travel up to see the dunes or experience the beach and they have no where to go eat that is worth going to.
Amazing Food and Service. The only time I ever go is on Friday nights for their AYCE Prime Rib and Seafood buffet. The prime rib has great flavor and is cut right in front of you. They keep the crab legs fresh and have hand drawn butter for you. Besides the usual crab and prime rib, the chef has different items every week, but my favorites are the jumbo clam strips, portobello stuffed raviolis, grouper, and the scallops wrapped in bacon. He also makes one of the best Clam Chowders (white) in NW Indiana. You can’t eat the quality and quantity of the food here for anything less than 60 dollars else where. The buffet runs a reasonable 23-25 dollars/person. Best bang for your buck period. The service is great and the Chef is a pretty cool guy. Try their desserts- if you can save room! Only down side- you have to be 21 to enter the restaurant thanks to Indiana law. There is no smoking in the dining area, but it is attached to a bar with smoking. I never had an issue with noticing smoke.
Drinks Only!!. The food is bad, as is the service. The only thing this place is good for, is a cocktail on the deck.
Don’t go to the Crown Point location. After reviewing the website we decided to go for dinner at the Crown Point location. When we got there we were shocked to find it had a different menu than was on line. Don’t go here expecting a nice dinner. None of the nice options shown on line. They did have a ribeye steak special listed but said they didn’t get the order in so no steaks. No decent seafood options either. We had already ordered a round of drinks so we stayed to drink them, then went to another restaurant down the street . Oh – and after spending 15 minutes in there we reeked of smoke. VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Will never go back.
Very impressive. Two for twenty. Dinners were great. FIVE STARS
Love the Pickles!. Stop here for the fried pickles when I’m in the area. Can make a meal out of them. Delicious but pricey. Wish more restaurants had them.
Fun place to drink at!!! The food on the other side…awful!! And the waitress we had was just as bad.. Lots of good beers in bottles and getting to drink outside on a deck by the lake is always awesome! Its a great place to hang out.
