This is the best Thai in Muncie, but the portions are too small. I have never felt satisfied after a meal here. However, for the sake of full disclosure, I have only ordered Pad See Ewe.

First time Thai food. We wanted to support a local downtown restaurant. Having never eaten Thai food we decided on Tuppee Tong on Main St. The staff was helpful on gauging how hot we should start out with. We carried out the food, but while we waited the atmosphere and music helped to relax us after a hectic day of work. We shared the spicy chicken stir fry and the red curry beef. Both were great and there was plenty to share. We will go back to support the kind women that waited on us. Beth & Bryan

Excellent thai food! Cute & romantic little spot in Muncie! Loved the fresh spring rolls and the freshness of the whole dinner! Thanks from Texas! Try this place out, you will be glad you did!

Scrumptious. Seriously.. Tuppee Tong Thai makes the best food I’ve ever had in a restaurant, and that’s not an exaggeration. All of their appetizers, desserts, and meals are from scratch and made to order- you won’t find any pre-made, frozen, re-heated stuff there- so everything is really fresh and flavorful. This is why it takes a while to actually get your food- but oh my, is it ever worth the wait. Go there with some family and friends and have a nice conversation while you wait for your meals. The staff are very nice, and also very accommodating of special dietary needs, unlike most other Thai places I’ve been. My fiance and I dine there frequently; both of us are vegan, and he is allergic to wheat, garlic, and citrus. This makes eating out at most places a chore, as you can imagine, but at Tuppee Tong, we know that the cooks will willingly omit and substitute any ingredients we can’t have. We’re also pretty wimpy in regards to spicy stuff, so they always add extra coconut milk to our meals to take the heat down a few notches. They are also very accommodating of special orders. For my birthday, my fiance ordered a massive pot (like, 24 servings or something) of Tuppee Tong’s yellow curry, which is my favorite food ever, and they whipped up a batch. Though, actually, my fiance initially forgot to specify that he wanted the curry made with tofu, so they made the batch with chicken- which I don’t eat. When he realized this, he sheepishly explained his mistake, and they made another pot with tofu, no questions asked, at no extra charge. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I highly recommend their spring and egg rolls as appetizers, which are not the MSG-and-sodium filled creations that some other restaurants boast. They are fresh, filled with veggies, and come with deliciously flavorful sauces. As I said before, the yellow curry (with tofu) is my favorite meal in the world, but I also recommend their Pad Thai. As far as desserts go, you will definitely want to save room for their coconut custard or black rice pudding.

GO TO THAI SMILE OR THAI KITCHEN. Bad place to go for lunch if your in a hurry. Several other problems too they never bring out everyones food at the same time. Usually plates are a few minutes apart sometimes 5 to 10 min though. Also the heat level is so inconsistiant I always used to get the Level 2 Spice on a scale of 1-4 and sometimes it would taste like there is nothing in it and other times it would be unbearably hot. Today I tried to eat there, I had one hour for lunch. They had one waiter working. It took 15 min just to get our soup. Finally after 40 min the first entree came out and we waited patiently for the last entree to come out. After 55 min and the first entree had become ice cold they came out and said they didn’t have anymore beef and asked if I would take chicken. I said no and to please cancel my order due to time. The waiter was very nice and apologized. Then right as my girlfriend was finishing her cold cashew chicken they brought out a plate of food (Not my order but something similar) about an hour and five minutes after we got there. Then they tried to have me take it to go and they wanted to CHARGE ME FOR IT after I had cancelled my order. A little customer service goes along way! I used to eat at Tuppee Tong a few times a month until today. I will never spend my money there again.GO TO THAI KITCHEN OR THAI SMILE
