Terrific food – especially if you’re vegetarian or vegan. Everything in the vegetarian sampler I got was exceptionally delicious. My husband really enjoyed his cauliflower wrap. Waitress was quite friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with answering our questions. Terrific place!
Mishkenut is an absolute treasure. I was stuck in Indiana for work, and there’s pretty much nothing I would dare eat in that area– until I found this place. I tried a lot of different things on the menu and they were all amazing. It’s so good I would almost go back to Indiana just to eat here. This place is awesome and cheap!
So Darn Delicious!. I never thought I’d find such delicious hummus so close to home, but when I walked into Mishkenut I found that & SO much more! For starters I order said hummus along with any of their various salads- last visit was the Fatoosh & it was amazing. I want pita chips instead of croutons from here on out. And it’s just the salad! Wait until you get your entree!I tend to get the same things for dinner, either beef &/or chicken kebob or chicken schwarma. The seasoning of the proteins is impeccable. It’s hard to put it down. I recommend getting half rice & half steamed veggies as your sides with the kebob. They are both great compliments to the meat & tastes so fresh plus healthy. My husband has tried all the filet mignon tornedo options & has loved them all. I’ve also tried some lamb he once ordered & was not disappointed in the slightest. I also recommend getting baklava for dessert, even if you have to take it home due to being WAY too full to indulge at the restaurant. It’s totally worth it though.Whenever we dine in we usually have the same friendly & efficient waitress. If you have to wait just a little longer it’s because extreme care is being taken to give you a fresh meal every time. Upon receiving your check you also get little homemade chocolates that just put the icing on the cake of your already wonderful experience. If you can’t already tell, I love this place. Go there!
The house salad dressing was super delicious.
Lentil soup. To die for!!!!12 Jan, 2012The Best!. It doesn’t get better than Mishkenut. From the moment you enter you are treated like family. This small store front, family run restaurant offers healthy, freshly prepared Meditteranean foods. The hummus is the best I have ever tasted. I am slowly working my way through their menu and have never been disappointed. Whether you want something simple like soup and a salad, or a big full meal….they have something to offer. The fish, the lamb, the falfels, the veggies,….nothing disappoints. I very highly recommend this restaurant.
The service can sometimes be hit-or-miss, even in this small storefront eatery.. but the food is delicious and the staff is friendly.
This place was recommended by a fellow healthy eater, with good reason. The food is fresh and tasty. Natural ingredients, which of course are hard to find in the restaurant business, especially in NW Indiana. We went on a Friday night, and it was quite busy. They must have been short-staffed because we waited a long time for our food. Not to say that service was bad, just took a long time to cook. However, when the food did arrive it was piping hot and deliciously fresh. I’m looking forward to going back to try more of the varied yet reasonably simple menu.
