Stopped in for lunch today. Fieldhaus is relatively new, formerly J.R.’s pub. It is a sports bar with a restaurant section, bar area, outside seating, and a volleyball area.It wasn’t busy for our late lunch on a weekday (not surprising). The dining area in the restaurant section was new, clean, and had tv’s and some video games. The service was really good and our waitress was great. The food didn’t come out super fast, but it was fresh and hot and the wait not too long.We had the cheese and bacon fritters as an appetizer and they were great. They were served with a homemade chunky marinara sprinkled with fresh Parmesan. I had a slider appetizer as my meal (1 meatball, 1 burger, 1 buffalo chicken). They were all 3 served on a fresh white bun. The burger was really good and came with grilled onions. The meatball one was good too and was huge; it was served with marinara and fresh Parmesan. The buffalo chicken slider was a big chicken tender with buffalo sauce. They were all good and I would order again, after I try the chicken and waffles.My BF got the Philly cheesesteak, small portion of good coleslaw, and a big portion of homemade chips. He said the Philly was good but they had to sub the Swiss cheese for another cheese because they were out. That shouldn’t happen with it being a regular menu item. His son got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The cb was big and served on a good bun and the fries were a big portion.I thought the food was really good and I will try them again. They are a tad bit pricey for bar type food in New Albany, but a welcome addition to the food scene here. The service was good and the place clean.
