Crab Rangoon. Great appetizer, lots of crab and cream cheese, good dipping sauce29 Dec, 2014Good Chinese Food. It is nice to find great Chinese food close to home. We enjoyed our food and the service was very good. We are returning for our 2nd visit.

Average at best. After reading the reviews I thought I would give Mandarin Cafe a shot. I was sorely disappointed. I tried the Crab Rangoon, Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Egg Roll, and General Tso’s chicken. This is what I refer to as bastardized Asian food – spicy hot, no real flavors, and geared toward palates unfamiliar with more authentic dishes. The rangoon and egg roll tasted like they had been fried in old oil that had previously cooked some kind of beef or pork – or both. The rangoon was not only chewy but on the soggy side. The 9 small pieces general tso’s had heat and no flavor. The noodles were unbelievably bland. Mai’s Thai in Jeffersonville is way better. Moreover, there are better Asian restaurants in Louisville such as Jasmine in Middletown with better flavors. If you like bland Asian dishes this is the place for you.

Food was great, but the portions were on the small side. Still better then hing wang.

Been there 3-4 times; always good. They deliver too. Have tried War Su Gar, Mongolian Beef, Lo Mein, Shrimp fried rice, Crab Rangoon, and Lemon Chicken. All were good. Friendly and quick service. Not dirty (and bland) like Hing Wang.

Very fresh and fast! We ordered delivery online and it was here rather fast. It tastes very fresh. Being die hard Hing Wang fans, we were leery but Mandarin Cafe blows them out of the water! Awesome food!!
