Beware. Once upon a time, this was a really good restaurant, owned by a family that seemed to love their customers, love their employees, and had a good sense for balancing speed and quality. Unfortunately, that family ended up selling it last year. We have returned three times since it was sold, and the quality has gotten lower, and lower, and lower – might as well be eating at one of the lesser El Nopals now. Just…don’t.
Poor quality, poor service. OMG. The worst Mexican Food anywhere in the area! How on Earth does a place like this stay in business? Noisy, crying kids, watered down drinks, food all microwaved and flavorless. What else is there to say……19 Oct, 2012Good food – way too many bratty kids. I agree – servers are friendly, food is good, but come on people – you need to take the bored, whiny, bratty kids to McDonald’s or Checkie Cheese’s where they can go play in another room. From what I can see, the parents get bombed, don’t tip well and let their children do everything they shouldn’t be doing. The staff tried to smile, but REALLY? get a clue – this is a NICE place and it’s SO hard to enjoy a meal in the middle of a kiddy invasion. Same for Tucker’s down over the hill. Kids don’t belong anywhere thie unresponsible parents can just drink too much and ignore their kids…..and then have the nerve to leave a buck or two for a tip. Food everywhere and none of their kids have slept in days…WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? 4 star food and 5 star value for your money….

This place has been went down. Seems like when the lady that owns/runs is there it’s better, but she hasn’t been there the last couple of times we have been in.
Love Yellow Cactus! Their hot salsa is the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend any of the fajita quesadillas (shrimp, steak, chicken, vegetarian), the chicken chimichanga, or one of my personal favorites the Chicken Cactus Special with onions and green peppers. It is very hard to go wrong here, and the drinks and drink specials are pretty good during the week, and the wait staff and the owners are very friends and provide a great environment. My family, friends, I have been coming here since it first opened, and it definitely tops another Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in southern Indiana or Louisville. Five stars for the cactus!
2/3/13 @ 12:00 PM food OK for basically fast food. Attempted to order a Chimichonga with Carnitas (pork). Was told no changes on menu made. Could understand if they actually cooked somthing! All they do is scoop it out, put on the plate, & then microwave. Sorry then are not more accomodating to the Customer!
So Yummy. This place is so very yummy! I can’t remember the name of the dish, but the chicken and rice special is sooooooo good!
