Enjoyed my dinner here. I had a gyro sandwich with garlic feta fries and my wife had the falafel sandwich with the garlic feta fries as well. She really liked her falafel and we both liked the fries. I thought the gyro was good, but prefer thinner slices of meat to the chunks they used. We also got the knafa which was pretty good but could have used a sauce of some sort. I would eat here again.

George and his staff are amazing. We’ve been dining here for years and they always make us feel like family. The food is authentic and excellent. This is our favorite al fresco spot in the city. Dining alongside the canal during nice weather just makes you happy to be alive.

Excellent. Grilled Fresh Salmon Salad is outstanding. If you think you are pretty good at making salmon yourself, try Salmon Salad at Canal Bistro. Yes, their salmon is better. Gyros and Falafel sandwich are tasty as well. Great place, great people. Definitely recommended.

Ambience, great service, best falafel in Indy. A great place for an intimate dinner or lunch with a friend or significant other. The warm sun and light from the canal is not to be missed. Bohemian decor is both relaxing and charming. Servers are exceptionally polite- opening doors, pouring our water and giving us our own bottle for the table. Warm pita with cardamon flavored olive oil to dip it in is luscious. This is the second time I’ve ordered falafel and it has to be the best I’ve ever had (I say this coming from the Detroit region which boasts a large middle eastern population). Never dry and nicely balanced with pickled turnips, lettuce, etc. The cardamon, which many restaurants fail to incorporate, sends it over the top. Much busier on weekends and evenings, the wait for your service is well worth the atmosphere and menu. For a quieter visit try a weekday lunch time. One of my favorite places to dine in Indy.

I am in love with the spinach pie and their hummus. The fries with the garlic and feta was amazing as well. My husband and I can’t wait to go back. The owner is super nice and you can tell he really loves his customers.

Impromptu decision to have lunch there and what a pleasant surprise! The food was fantastic, service was good and the location is wonderful. Would definitely go back.
