Fire by the Monon used to be one of our favorite spots to go for a great meal. We would go at least once a week and we would have our regular server who was amazing. Sometimes the noise level was a little overwhelming if they were busy. Some of the food was excellent, some of it was just adequate. Our regular server eventually quit and we seemed to start getting more of the just adequate food. We had two bad visits in a row and eventually just stopped going. It’s a shame because it’s a great setting in a great area. I may give it some time and try it again but it’s going to be a while.
I was very happy and pleased for my first time ever being. I wasn’t too impressed on the lava cake but my husbands bread pudding was good even with peaches in it. Thanks for making us feel welcomed.
I have been here twice, per recommendation of my cousins. We love their soup and their pulled pork is very good. The mac and cheese is a great appetizer. The burgers were hearty. Great place.
We recently tried this place out and I was pleased with the experience. I ordered the breaded tenderloin and found it to be one of the better tenderloin sandwiches in the state. The breading was good and well seasoned and the tenderloin itself was a nice cut of meat. I would highly recommend getting the tenderloin if you are into such things. My wife got the salmon and said that it was very good.
I’ve been here three times and have yet to be disappointed. The food has always been great and the staff always helpful. We did have to wait about 80 minutes on a Saturday night with a party of 7, which shouldn’t be unexpected. But the owner came by with free appetizers and apologized for the wait anyway. Great place!
Bad Service&Poor Quality. There’s a reason it was so empty on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were confused at first if we should choose our own seats or wait for a host. After looking around we were finally greeted and shown to our seats outside and in full sun. Even in the fading light of day- it was too hot for comfort without even the offer of some kind of shade. Then we, after waiting for a while again, were greeted by our server and given the specials. Then she disappeared- just poof- like a frickin’ genie. After waiting longer she reappeared and took our drink and appetizer order. When our food finally arrived we had the cheese and pretzel starter- the pretzels were clearly frozen and reheated. Overall, we were very disappointed by our time and will not be coming back.
