I wanted to like….. So… stopped by Flying Cupcake on 82nd on Wednesday. I was excited and really wanted to give it a whirl because I love cupcakes! I’ve also seen the mobile truck near my workplace so decided to stop in. Nice decor , dark display case and may I say, what I saw in the display case was disappointing. The presentation was very sloppy, some of the cupcakes were ill shaped and some were so much bigger than others of the same kind that it looked like it was falling out of the wrapper!!! The frosting looked very sloppily placed as well.I hate to say it but I turned around and went down the street to GiGi’s cupcakes. I’ve been to Flying Cupcake on Illinois before and I had a pleasant experience (Rev Velvet Cupcake)but I don’t know if the new location has some growing pains or needs to train their staff better but I was very disappointed. Constructive criticism -better presentation of your product (cupcakes) and better lighting so people can be enticed to purchase! Less marketing and focus more on the product please.
