Consistency and flavor reign surpreme. I had my first taste of Gigi’s back in 2009 in Nashville, TN. Between then and now, not a lot have changed. Their cupcakes are consistent in size no matter which flavors you get. Their flavors are unique and plentiful. My wife recently brought home chocolate peanut butter, chocolate covered strawberry, key lime pie and something else.The amount of icing the put on these cupcakes equal the amount of the actual cake part. And each cupcake is roughly $3, so getting a box of 4 is going to set you back $12, ouch.I wouldn’t vote these the best in Indianapolis because I haven’t tried many other places, but I would say that they are your best bet if you absolutely have to have cupcakes and think there are too many decisions in this town.
Best Cupcakes in Indy. By FAR! I have had GiGi’s at First Friday Food Truck Fest and at a work function. At First Friday, myself and kids went nuts for the Midnight Magic. The cake was super moist with lots of frosting. At the work function I had the Kentucky Bourbon cake, it is by far the best cupcake I have ever had in my life. I highly reccommend checking out GiGi’s if you have a sweet tooth.
Best cupcake I ever had. My whole family went nuts for these. We had them for dessert a couple hours after have awesome burritos at Pancheros down the road. Talk about the icing on the cake. Best buttercream ever. The staff was delightful and you can bet we’ll be back a lot.
Insane amount of icing vs. cake. They look gorgeous but I wasn’t impressed with taste and had to plow thru inches of icing.
So So. I had their mini cupcakes before when someone brought them work and i love those, they were red velvet mini cupcakes. you pop one in your mouth and you’ll be begging for more.So i visited their store, after shopping at Reis-Nichols, the variety of flavors were unbelievable, so i chose the wedding cake, chocolate cookie dough, chocolate cheese cake (they gave me this instead of the red velvet that i asked for, but i said what the heck, let me try it) then the white midnight magic.I tried one in the car, and was bragging to my kids and husband that it was so good, I let them try the wedding cake too, but the wow factor wasnt there, the cake was like a mix cake recipe and the frosting was not impressive either. So i said we’ll save the other three for after dinner. But all of them just didn’t deliver. For almost $4 a piece, I expected more.
I heard this place was good so I checked it out. I had the smores cupcake. I was very disappointed. The cake was dry and bland. The marshmallow had no taste. The cupcakes you make at home out of a box are better.
Cute small cupcakes. If you love white sheet cakes from Kroger’s, like me (YUM!) then Gigi’s is the next best thing. They’re a little smaller, but taste just like Kroger’s. Tried the wedding cake cupcake, and it was spongey and delicious. I also like that they just put a little dollop of frosting on so it’s not so much. They also don’t mind if you bring your Starbucks coffee in, so that’s a plus, too!
